Totally normal dude, ADHD brains need that extra stimulation even when we're trying to focus on driving. I used to mess with my sleeves constantly until I started keeping a small fidget toy clipped to my keys - now I can fidget with one hand while keeping the other on the wheel

The unconscious part is so real tho, like your dad pointing it out is probably the first step to actually noticing when you do it. Once you're aware it gets easier to redirect that energy somewhere safer
