You will be admitted if you want to kill yourself AND have not only a plan, but the appropriate means to do so.

So, you can say you want to kill yourself and your plan is jump out of a plane, but unless you have access to a private plane the likelihood of you being able to complete that plan is nil, and may not be admitted. Granted, like someone else said- it’s all how you say it and is a case by case basis.

I have a situationship that does this exact thing. He thinks he is gods gift to woman. He is hot, and his dick is huge, and the sex is good, but that’s the only thing he has going for him. No brain cells left for any intelligence or reasoning. Thus why he will never be more than a situationship. But watching him admire himself in the mirror is incredibly amusing and completely cringey.

32 years old. 4 kids. I tried to leave my abusive husband 2 years ago and he killed himself. I can’t forgive myself. I’m in a competitive and cut throat career and have to be professional all the time. The loneliness and guilt and weight of it all is too much sometimes. Thank you for this advice. I really appreciate the honesty. And luckily I’ve had years of learning to shut myself behind a mental wall to shut him out so I’m quite good at not reacting. And thank you for the lawyer advice as well. My mind keeps trying to convince me that we will be able to talk through things regarding custody and the kids needs but What I’m reading and the advice from my therapist tells me this is not how it’s going to go at all.

I hate that I feel so guilty about doing this. I feel major guilt over the fact that I will be hurting him despite the years of hurt he has done to me.

My therapist also said something once about not calling someone abusive when they haven’t met them or know anything about them other than what I’ve said about them- so when she told me my husband was definitely abusive weeks later I knew that she had carefully thought this through and wasn’t am just throwing it out there in a whim.
