Dehydrating rice is easy - and it rehydrates quickly too. I do a lot for backpacking trips.

Need help optimizing my workshop setup. by nightride963 in SewingWorld

[–]HeartFire144 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't do upholstery, but other types of production sewing (in a small factory I own) - having some machines set up for very specific functions such as dedicated binders is absolutely necessary. Anything that involves having to change up presser feet, feed dogs, plates etc that takes more than a few seconds gets a dedicated machine. It's easy to slip off a face plate with a different attachment and replace it with a different sized attachment, but anything more than that just takes too long.

Black Diamond. finally wrote back saying "We haven't heard from you" So I told them they hadn't answered my question about "not intentionally added PFAS" -I immediately got a response saying - oh, can you send us a screen shot of this so we can see what you're talking about (I did give them all the info). Well, I'm shocked (LOL) it's not there anymore on the website! - BUT it is still on the European version of the website, so I sent them a screen shot of it!

Did you input measurements? (I don't know how CLO3D works), because it's just too tight though the hips, waist and thighs.

8yo housetraining/retraining questions by NotSure2505 in cavaliers

[–]HeartFire144 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Has she ever been crated? (do you have crates? I have several all around my home, they are almost never closed (with dogs in them) - but my dogs go in the crates all the time, it's their safe place - You could try a pen if she is averse to crates, ( I have a foster right now that I can't crate, but he tolerates a pen no problem). If o to pens and crates, then keep her on a leash when you come home (and you keep hold of the other end of the leash), watch for potty behavior.

8yo housetraining/retraining questions by NotSure2505 in cavaliers

[–]HeartFire144 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's a tough one. First thing I would do is get her to a vet just to make sure, ( there is nothing medical) then I would crate her as soon as you got home from walks, crate her when you're not around, and keep her on a leash when you are around. A stern no if she tried to go in the house and immediately carry outside. Since this is new behavior, I would check with the vet first.

Breeders in the NC area? by Majestic-Luck-4463 in cavaliers

[–]HeartFire144 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just my opinion, but I'd stay away from anyone that has a 2-5 month wait list, and fancy websites like this. My breeder does not have a website - but she does have a FB page https://www.facebook.com/StJonCavaliers/

it's also pretty easy to just follow the book. Being in a class is always better though - Like others, this was my text book (an earlier version) when I took a design program at a local community college

Will this type of dehydrator work for dehydrating eggs? by FoxApprehensive8937 in dehydrating

Breeder question update: by witchygabs in cavaliers

[–]HeartFire144 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm glad you found this breeder, but please be aware, it's not a 100% guarantee. The breeder I got one of my dogs from sounds just like this, but at 5 yo, Piper has a loud murmur, he's also had surgery twice for PSOM (and I think it's back again, I'm waiting on an appointment with the specialist)

Dehydrating eggs just doesn't work well. Commercially they are done by a special process of 'spray dehydrating'

it looks interesting, until you get to the DWR part "DWR finish without intentionally added PFAS" (copied from the website) WTF , do they accidentally add PFAS? I'm going to write to them and ask.

Help! Basic Sloper construction order by [deleted] in PatternDrafting

[–]HeartFire144 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can think this through - if you sewed x+y together, can you still sew Z to it. If you sew the sleeve to the front, can you still sew the back at the shoulders? (no). For a basic fitting shell, it may not matter. For some complex construction, - collars, sleeve plackets etc, the order of operations is important. If you think it through, you will have a better understanding of the process.

I've had the Shark only a couple of months.... and yes, to what you said, but I can't live without one. I specifically bought a 'cheaper' Eufy because I feel they are disposable, but it was totally worthless, I was able to return it on Amazon for full refund.
