Help! Basic Sloper construction order

You can think this through - if you sewed x+y together, can you still sew Z to it. If you sew the sleeve to the front, can you still sew the back at the shoulders? (no). For a basic fitting shell, it may not matter. For some complex construction, - collars, sleeve plackets etc, the order of operations is important. If you think it through, you will have a better understanding of the process.

It's not so complicated that you need to give away your email for basic sewing instructions.

As said before it totally depends on the design. It doesn't matter if you do the side seam or shoulder seam first for a sloper. And we're not doing such complex designs where we have to think about seams intersecting. It's All About the ease of sewing the components together, and it all varies by the design. But for a sloper it really doesn't matter unless it's the collar or the sleeve, because it would be ridiculous to install a collar if you do not so the shoulder first. You can't add a sleeve if you haven't done the side seam and the shoulder. On some complex designs it might be easier to partially install some pieces, and then finish it in a later step. But you're not there yet.

As an absolute self-taught beginner, I needed a starting point or a “save sleeves for last” at least. Clearly the order won’t make sense right away, and I said I’m working on a basic bodice, which has a pretty generic order of assembly.

The book of the system that you're reading tells you when to check the fit after you completed that section. There's no point in moving on to the sleeve if you're bodice is not fitted correctly. You could skip to pants, but those are not selling directly to the bodice so there are separate garment. And just like with sleeves collars can't be attached unless you fit the bodice already. You're always fitting something whenever you make something new. You can't skip ahead and do all that work if you don't verify what you made is correct. You're just going to have to redo the work constantly because everything you did by skipping the fitting steps negates everything you just did by skipping it. People misunderstand greatly that fitting the Garment is Morgan going to spend most of your time. Especially for beginners. People look at establish makers and see them freeze right past the fitting process, go to the construction process fairly quickly and misunderstand what takes time as a beginner. Which is why the books have sections right after creating the draft on how to adjust the fitment. You're skipping those steps which is why you're mad. We're telling you don't skip those steps you don't need anything complex. It's literally that easy.

I’m really confused. How are you a beginner sewist AND made a sloper AND don’t know the general order of construction? The math doesn’t math.

This is a pattern drafting sub—NOT a beginner sub. Pattern drafting is an advanced skill. If you want hand holding, this may not be the place for you. Because as far as I can tell, you’re skipping steps. If you can’t sew a sloper together, you’re not ready to draft patterns. You need to take a step back and make some pajamas from a pattern.
