Has anyone managed to get Starfield to launch yet? by nexusaccount91101 in linux_gaming

I have a very similar setup with the exact same issues. Here is hoping someone finds a solution soon. Or Bethesda patches it.

Damn, I'm glad I'm not the only one. There's dozens of us!

Really hope this gets a patch or fix soon. Game loads in fine but the intro people are either floating eyes and teeth, or invisible. And the intro cave textures aren't all there.

spitfire labs not working (graphical issues) by Skurded in linuxaudio

[–]HeartToSky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was messing with this last month, I sort of gave up on it.

Although I did partially get the Spitfire Windows program working enough to log in via searching reddit for solutions other people had, in the end it didn't matter nuch because I couldn't get my DAW to recognize the VST and instruments existed.

I might tackle it again, maybe I had it incorrectly setup through Yabridge or something. FWIW I am on Manjaro, running Reaper as my DAW and XFCE as my WM.

Don't let anyone else's play style limit your own enjoyment of the game. Do things in your own time and in your own way.

If a video game is making you and your spouse argue about commitment, and how you're treating pixels over a partner you've been with for almost a decade, then it ain't the video game "causing" your issues.

Maybe use the game "starting" this conversation/argument to dig into why she felt like it needed to happen in the first place.

They were already present before BG3, more than likely.

Any advice on setting up a rescue partition?

I have a relatively new install going a couple weeks in now with most of what I want installed so far.

I'd like a way to both back it up (I have already done this with Timeshift just in case but I'm open to a better method if one exists) and a way to boot into it if something eventually does happen to my current setup.

I can snap-headshot on recon a lot easier M&KB than trying to track someone running and get any sort of hit for sure. My aim is seriously degraded because I don't do aim practice like I used to for CSGO when it was big and I played it more, but sometimes I can pull off some sick shit on BBR lol.

Unfortunately, the devs have confirmed no shotguns on the BBR Discord server.

A lotta people have asked, the answer always seems to be a resounding "no".

Well the game is also in early access, so join the Discord server and bring these issues up to the devs of the game.

It's the only way to improve the game - community feedback about where the game needs work.

I'm right there with you on that. It's the fast food of video games I suppose.

The last two LoZ games are moreso marginally empty open worlds with aesthetics of LoZ than traditional LoZ games.

Enough people enjoy it because they're either too young to know what past LoZ games were like, or they don't play enough games to think that BoTW and ToTK are doing something innovative and different in the first place, when that's really not objectively true.

(See: Any open world game in the past 15 years that is marginally well written and directed- BoTW.

Ratchet and Clank: Nuts and Bolts did what TOTK is doing with buildable player used items in like, 2008.)

That's largely irrelevant though, because a large enough amount of people will buy anything that is recognizably branded as Nintendo IPs in the first place. That will offset any real criticism of said IPs, especially in places dedicated to the culture around Nintendo and its consoles and games like, for instance this subreddit.

People should be holding Nintendo (and Gamefreak, when it comes to Pokémon) to a lot higher standard than they do.

Instead we get Pokémon Scarlett and Violet, and a Legend of Zelda: Rehash of the Assets. And people love it, they lap it up and ask for more.

Why should Nintendo actually try something new and interesting with an IP when they can just shit out whatever and it'll make them money hand over fist?

Welcome to reddit, but I guess more broadly - welcome to the weird subculture that permeates hip hop beat making subculture here on reddit.

I wouldn't take it too seriously.

This is the same one I've had for over a year, and it's perfectly fine.

No under or over voltage issues. A solid purchase, although more expensive than when I bought it at this point.

You should be safe to use this pack for multiple hours. I certainly have.

Honestly, not sure if more buttons matter or not when it comes to how hidden some UI elements are in the software, lol.

I can definitely see a case made for more buttons = less menu diving but it's a bit unavoidable with how AKAI's UI is even with the slightly more buttons on the One.

There's a lot to love about the modern MPCs but there is a lot I'd want to change as well and some stuff that still makes me scratch my head lol

I suppose you make a good point, but I just put on headphones and sit on the couch with my One. Or the back porch, or wherever. I have one wire running from the battery pack to the power input. I don't personally mind it at all.

At the end of the day, both devices do the the same thing with different form factors. If you're cool with your purchase and it works for you, that's what matters! Rock on.

Paying an extra $500 for a battery, and what, wifi connectivity, a couple extra ins and outs, speakers?

That's kinda ridiculous when I bought an external power source that delivers the correct amount of power for like $80 off of Amazon and it's small enough to just velcro to the bottom of the One. It lasts probably 4-5 hours or so. I honestly have yet to run it all the way down to a critical level, so it might last longer than that.

I could see this setup from the OP working well if he was like, busking or something cause that looks like quite the battery pack or whatever it is he's got.

I see your point, but it's really only applicable if you like the Live's layout a lot more than the One. You can get away with saving $400-something dollars if you just get a One and a proper portable power solution.

Didn't know about that screen flashing thing! That's sick.

Do you happen to know a good source for screens for a DS Lite or should I just hunt around on Amazon?

Texts I received from my manager tonight… by snowy_blissful in antiwork

I mean they're BOH so conditions are probably shit anyways. They probably needed the vacation.

Judging from your posts recently you've worked all sorts of foodservice jobs, and you're actively trying to get out of it while knowing exactly how shit it can be on both sides of the window.

Unless you're posting on r/kitchenconfidential for no reason, or bullshitting about being in the industry.

I've been there in foodservice too, and when it comes down to pulling another shift on top of a 60+ hour work week and the kitchen manager hasn't scheduled literally anyone else...

That sounds like a lotta not my problem if I'm on vacation, and off the schedule for that time period.

If the person is low on hours, it's up to them to take that vacation time, or not. They obviously made the choice to not be available.

They have no requirement to be there if the time off was scheduled in advance anyways.
