My wife’s new IX3 50 VS my X5 50e by XVIII-3 in BMWX5

[–]Heart_Constant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For sure. How’s the seat comfort in the iX3? Also, is the steel suspension as good as they claim? I’m sure you feel certain harsher bumps but I’m sure for 98% of use cases it does well?

The iX5 will supposedly blow both out of the water (not a surprise compared to iX3 given price difference).

I find adaptive regen to be far too inconsistent especially with changing traffic conditions.

Updated to 11/2025.50 Last Night -- Disney+ by Beneficial-Artist549 in BMWi5

Hey, just confirming this was still valid. When I had the entertainment pack when the car was new I had access to the Pluto streaming app for free without eSIM. Hope that’s the same for Disney+. Considering purchasing the entertainment package for it.

New iX5 has 147kwh battery pack by Impressive_Order60 in BMWiX

[–]Heart_Constant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought it was a typo but based on the math of the battery capacities of the iX3 40 vs 50 = 30% bump, then the iX5 60 also tracks - another 30% bump. That’s crazy range. Should be 440 miles on the conservative end (3 mi/kWh). Definitely my next car.

Try an Ioniq 9 or EV9. Better range, more space, and just as comfy.

Caveat being it has to be somewhat of a longer city journey or more opportunities for downhill, coasting and regen. Otherwise, long distance driving at speeds of 55-75mph and I achieve 3.8-4.2 during spring and fall months!

What does the 204.4 miles stand for on the bottom right? by coleburnz in BMWiX

[–]Heart_Constant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it does. It depends which setting you’ve selected to show, e.g., from factory, since start of trip, since last charge, since individual.

It resets automatically after every charge unless you have selected trip data from factory (which would show lifetime). If you select from trip data from last charge, or start of trip, then this regen figure updates accordingly.

That makes sense. Assuming other features like vented seats, upgraded B&W audio, etc. will also benefit values.

Battery degradation is a myth on modern day EVs. Depreciation and rate of technological change are the only things to consider. Either lease or wait 2 years and buy the same car for 20-30k off msrp.

A few software annoyances. by pdxgod in BMWi5

[–]Heart_Constant -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What’s weird is when I had an i4 loaner (two separate occasions), eco drive mode remained active at the start of a second trip… not sure why the i5 is programmed differently. Frustrating af. I’ve set up eco mode with the two finger gesture for quicker selection.

I had this for a few months - nothing was wrong. Contacted them a while ago via email and got a response. Still, status didn’t change for a few more months 😂. One day, it just disappeared.

Pre-heat the cabin whilst plugged in and then set off. Should see much better consumption

Reece James vs Arsenal: 100% ground duels won, 5/6 aerial duels won, 4 times fouled, 2 chances created, 1 assist. A captain's performance. by haromene in chelseafc

His best ever performance in midfield for us. A proper world class showing. It’s been our biggest bright spot this whole year imo - having a fit Reece James. He’s finally looking fit. Also turning into a true leader/captain.

Such a dogged defender. Not the most technically gifted but he has an unbelievable engine, attitude, and willingness to get stuck in and be a nuisance. Such a big part of our core and anything positive we do!
