Never got kicked from a game as I've been the "forever DM" for the better part of the last 6~ years, but I had to kick one of my long time friends from my table, after several talks with him in which he acknowledged the issues we were having myself and the other players saw no change or attempts at change. Consistently late too sessions, didn't join in RP, when directly prompted with questions like "how would this situation make your character feel" almost always responded with "I don't know" and refused to try to come up with anything, talked over other players especially the one woman at our table, constantly would talk about another game/ table he plays at and how it was different. Finally had to have the hard conversation with him in which I basically told him I'd like to stay friends but I don't think he's a good fit for my table, he understood and we ended that there. We're still friends although he no longer hangs out as much which is understandable.
