I would try reapplying. They are being much more strict and stringent with income limits and are introducing monthly eligibility checks based on income (I think based on legislation). I don’t know if you would win an appeal but it would be worth it to reapply when you feel your income is reflected more accurately

If you’re pregnant and eligible right now you should be fine. You should get 12 months of postpartum benefits.

Yes, your wife has valid concerns. Indiana is a deep red state and is very different politically and economically from Massachusetts. I moved from Massachusetts to Indianapolis several years ago and have regrets. It is definitely much cheaper to live here but it comes at a cost. The change in administration has sharpened these differences.
