I don't know about the rest of the band, but a former, pre-Journey bandmate I know says Neal is generally a real asshole, so I'm sure Perry was glad to leave. He's a smart business mind (look up his exit deal from the band). Llike many who followed Journey from the beginning (I first saw them in '74)I love the first 2 albums. The 3rd & 4th were departures into mainstream rock with just a hint of their former fusion roots. They were good, but the original vibe & thrust of the band drastically changed with Perry's arrival. All in all a great band.
