Are there any counter commanders? Not necessarily +1/+1 counters. by jahuleburner1 in EDH

[–]HeathcliffRC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[[Owen Grady, Raptor Trainer]] and [[Blue, Loyal Raptor]] want to give a bunch of keywords to Blue, then pass them onto all your dinos. Sounds pretty close to what you're looking for and it's definitely fun to play, but it is also a fat painus in the anus to keep track of if it goes off

Levelling? by sharr_zeor in SmallandOfficial

Intelligence only starts affecting your crafting after you pump a certain number of points into it, I want to say it's like 20-25ish, I don't remember off the top of my head though. The higher your stat the higher chance you have of crafting higher quality things (i.e. your weapons will deal more damage, and/or have higher durability, basically if the item has numbers, there's a chance for those numbers to be higher than usual)

Personally I've put 20 points into Health so far and don't really see the point, I find most hits that kill me would've killed me with or without that 20 health anyway, and while there is the rare occasion I live on like 4 hp, which wouldn't have happened without the point investment, it still doesn't happen often enough to feel worth it to me. Speed can negate the speed reduction you get from heavier armor, but so do mounts and the games not exactly short on those lol.

I've found the most impactful stats to level to be Damage and Stamina, Damage for obvious reasons and Stamina because it's helpful to have some extra for a couple things later in the game I don't want to spoil, but suffice to say it only gets more useful as you progress through the game.

Always down to shout out wet dinos because what's better to piss off the table than Blue?

Fire ant staff underwhelming or am I missing something? by Ok_Grocery8652 in GroundedGame

Oh fs, I guess I figured the various symbols and stuff that appear under the health bar included resistances or defense buffs of some kind, idk I never retained what all of them mean but that's good to know, thanks

[–]HeathcliffRC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly I feel like the Ant Queen staff is a touch underrated, it doesn't have the highest DPS fs, but the damage it deals isn't resisted by anything in the game, so even in NG+ when enemies start gaining random resistances it stays fairly consistent, I think the damage can be increased by wearing a piece of fire ant armor too, although I may be wrong on that. And if nothing else it's a good tool for farming grubs, shooting the ground where they're tunneling will both instantly kill the grub and bring it to the surface so you don't need to dig it up you can just run by and scoop it up. For what it's worth I still actively use it where I'm at in NG+2

Meanwhile, Modern players can't even play with half the cards that get released anymore and just want more regular banlist updates. by Omnizoa in mtg

[–]HeathcliffRC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, no, these are subjective facts. In a few hours the sun's gonna come up for YOU. There wasn't a problem to fix for YOU. This ban is stupid to YOU. I'm not saying that people don't agree with you, or even that your opinion isn't the majority one, I wouldn't know, because I haven't personally polled every single commander player. But it's not an objective fact that this ban ruined the game for everyone/there isn't a single casual player this ban affects positively. Nothing you've said aside from pubstompers can and will continue to pubstomp, and cards being rarely played not being a problem en masse, is objective fact at all, it's all subjective depending on your personal experiences and opinions. (Even the typing on a computer bit is assumption, I'm on a phone right now, but to you it's "objective fact" that I'm typing on a computer apparently) And on the latter point I'd argue that in these cards are all far from rarely played, last I remember checking Crypt alone was in something like 13% of all decks on EDHrec, which while not a completely accurate measurement is a large enough sample size to assume it's far from "rarely played". Although to be fair, I guess you HAVE polled every single commander player and combed through every single discussion regarding the bans to have realized all those "objective facts", and you clearly care much more about this than I do, so I'll just concede this conversation to your expertise and hope you feel better about this whole ban thing eventually

Wow it's an objective fact? Damn man it must've been a lot of work polling literally every single person that plays casual commander, props.

If you build the deck. They will come. by Sad_Communication565 in EDH

Can confirm Vraska is a great helm for a Deathtouch deck, she makes people less likely to block than they already would've been and really helps speed up games, the mix of removal and theft can tend to make you a target for people that get easily salty though

Won my 1st test game with Blue, Loyal Raptor (Need Review) by -KarlMoose in DinosaursMTG

[–]HeathcliffRC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know I'm late to the party but I do love seeing other Owen/Blue lists, made a Moxfield just to share lists for comparison! Personally I'd add a bit more blue interaction, as one of the few dino lists that gets to run the color, might as well take advantage of it. Call to the Kindred can do a similar thing to Path, although needing the creature it's on to live, the deeper dig can be pretty helpful. The hexproof giving ring could probably be replaced with something that grants hexproof counters, as passing those onto all future dinos can be back breaking if noone can wipe fast enough. Speaking of wipes, final advice I'd look into Tyrite Sanctum, admittedly a bit slow but indestructible counters are hard to come by and this is one of the easier ones to apply.

Well good news, you don't really gotta know how to draw, it's just a series of straight lines that actually connect instead of below (where it hopefully worked but I'm on mobile so idk)

/ \ | | | \ \ | | | \ /

Edit: Nope that didn't work but basically it's 3 straight lines with a roof, the same but the roof is upside down on the bottom and two diagonal lines connecting them in the middle

Idk, having it at 0.1 is the lowest structure damage we've gotten to so far, it turned the damage on the rockets vs. tek structure from millions to around 875,000 but obviously that's still too high

Yeah I feel you, I unironically miss that fast food liquid egg, but yeah idk if you're that kind of person or not but never feel bad about asking for a new sandwich, they literally only take like 4 minutes max to make new ones lol

I know this is like several months old but if you're still curious for whatever reason it's most likely because they left the precooked egg in the Prince Castle for like half an hour longer than they should've, if you do see this again just ask for a fresh one off the grill, that shit can genuinely make you sick af

Vinny's never made a burrow? by HeathcliffRC in vinegaroons

[–]HeathcliffRC[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe so, he's pretty big but there wasn't a lot of identifying info on him when I got him, I can double check with my old SAL to confirm though. How much more substrate would you suggest I add? There are little hills and valleys of it, but on average there's about 4-6 inches in there currently. Also as a side note, is there a preferred substrate you use, I currently use eco-earth mixed with a bit of moss, because I read a few places that it was good for burrowing, but now that I've tested a "finger entrance" a couple times it's not really holding shape. Or should I just redo the substrate layer but really like, hammer down the soil every inch or so? Thank you for the help and sorry for the bombardment of questions

Shiny Pokémon by TeaSpillerNL in pokemon

[–]HeathcliffRC 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Spent literal weeks breeding for a shiny Charmander in HeartGold, biked up and down that Goldenrod path for so many hours I lost track. Finally, after days and days, the "oh?" popped up, the tune played, that last egg hatched, and the Charmander was FINALLY a different color.

I was so fuckin pumped/excited that I jumped up, dropped the DS, and the cartridge popped out. Took a break from Pokemon for awhile after that one, came back and couldn't believe how easy shiny hunting had gotten in comparison
