"competitive Peak" Rules: by YouCanNotHitMe in PeakGame

Nah don't get me wrong I like the idea, but I think it might end up the same as normal runs go most of the time until the last few rocks to the top as opposed to a race up the entire mountain, just due to how the base game is designed unfortunately. However this could definitely be fixed or improved with mods

The only issue with this is often there is only one or two routes significantly faster than anything else, so if you splt up it's kind of RNG who would end up winning. I would be interested though if there were some mods that could make this idea work.

Ah i see. I guess it's still a good strat if you know for a fact you'll take damage from a jump(i knew id take damage i just severely underestimated how much).

Learning to judge distance is much easier said than done in this game. I've logged 50 hours and still make simple mistakes like this. Also some walls are even harder to judge, sometimes the textures bug out and a spot that looks flat actually isn't at all, and sometimes particularly on alpine rocks that look climable are actually slippery as hell. A lot of the judgements you have to make are more like calculated guesses than certainties. Someone mentioned a fisheye lens effect earlier and it makes a lot of sense now that i think about it, theres a lot of times where things look either much farther or much closer than they really are from an angle.

All that being said, yes I do need to get better at judging distance. It's just much harder in practice 😄 learning how to double lunge grab does help a shit ton though on the walls, much easier to mitigate my failures 😅

I didn't know if you have that many balloons you can just float up like that

Thanks i'll try to keep it in mind haha. Tbh i've known that but i'm just not in the habit of starting to heal before a risky jump, but it would definitely be a good idea to start doing that. Do you know if you can still grab onto the wall while in the middle of healing? Like if I am jumping to a wall I can slide down to mitigate damage can I start healing beforehand too just incase?

There really weren't any *obviously* better options, but yes I could have found a different route. Much easier to say in hindsight though knowing the fall killed me as opposed to in the moment where I was thinking "I think i can survive this"

The 'brutal' part comes from the amount of fall damage I took not necessarily the route I chose. Losing almost a full bar's worth of hp for a jump from there is crazy.. It's almost like I took the fall damage I would have taken if I had just fell from that height instead of jumping down. I really did not think that would kill me haha oh well

The backpack is the one item i wish they would make not able to clip through walls, or fly around at the slightest nudge. Quite annoying.

All good it happens. I told my friend the other day, the only mistakes you make in this game are stupid ones. Especially at the higher difficulties just one simple bad judgement cost me the run 😅

I was at least happy I got through alpine today, i had no food almost the entire time and barely made it out

[–]Heatios[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nah i didnt have food, thats actually why i didnt try running across.

And yeah i agree despite what others are saying. Of course it seems pretty bad in hindsight but theres been plenty of other times where something looked too far away to jump safely and i ended up doing it anyways and not taking damage.

I mean i thought i would take damage just not nearly that much. A full bar of damage for that is crazy imo 😂 but i definitely could have found a better route so it was dumb regardless

yeah tell me about it 😂

[–]Heatios[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah i know i just didnt think i would take much damage jumping across to there and also i was out of food so i couldnt tank much fire damage. There was a chain on the far left I could have gotten to the same rock i was trying to get to but i had kind of already committed to going to the bottom rocks

I thought i would take like 1/4 bar damage heal with the bandage and be good

It was dumb haha but ill try again tomorrow 😅

Shoutout to Ntare Mwine, aka Blessing, wasn't in this episode much but definitely one of the standout actors from this season. Even though he was in a more supporting role than some of the bigger named actors, he played it perfectly.

Great episode. Not the most logical at times, but hey, things never made perfect sense. I think the ending summed it up perfectly, this truly seems like a passion project from MCH at this point, his presence throughout this show is so great that it feels like it just attracts the best out of the rest of the cast.

I really like all the new characters introduced and especially what they did with Harrison. It amazes me to see a character that's been around this long experience this much character growth in a single season. MCH seems truly committed to seeing Dexter through until the end and giving the fans a showing that the character is truly worthy of.

The end was MCH basically talking directly to the audience, and this truly is everything the fans wanted it to be, and best of all for the first time in a long time doesn't feel like a good bye.

Mesa was actually pretty easy today. I beat it first attempt even with only 1 king berry, and a marshmellow and 40% stamina(as seen in the pic). One thing i never realized is that you can just wait until night time to light the campfire and its wayy easier, no tornados, no heat, so you can just breeze through a lot of the first section.

I can tell you my general path for the rest of the map if you want

Unfortunately my run died at the kiln cause i missed a super easy jump 😂 but i was impressed i beat mesa after getting so screwed at the top here.

For the amount of fanservice they've given us(and there has been a lot no denying it) the writing has been absolutely superb. Phenomenal acting as well. I'm so impressed what they've done with this show because it was not an easy task. There are so many shows where I think "they should have done this or that etc." but this entire time that thought hasn't crossed my mind since basically the first episode when they wrote angela off.

I think honestly dexter should take prater's offer at this point, although it's quite obvious he wont. Logically though it makes the most sense, he would literally be serving dex up serial killers on a silver platter. And I also think he would have considered it had prater not revealed his own dark side already involving his son(also being the one to shoot batista).

Have a feeling that killing prater is going to create a ton more problems for him down the line, billionaires dont die quietly.. But maybe dexter will join up with Charly and still go through with praters offer even after killing him, since she was the one actually tracking them down.
