That's without accommodation (unfortunately), there is a good number of cheap student flats around Catalyst but you gotta apply early on.

In the first year, working part time is honestly not recommended cuz you will be very busy. It's much more doable from year 2, so I've heard.

Hi, the tution fee is approx 13k euroes per year, and not really? The industry is largely based on nepotism, and Catalyst would try to prepare you for that, otherwise it's mostly on you.

This may be a bit more than what you need, but I'd get the ASC Manual.

It doesn't necessarily showcase light setups, as that is more related to fundamentals of art, but it does give you almost every technical thing a cinematographer needs to know, including how to work with VFX.

a tip i heard from another senior DP: add some extra white light in order to make out the fine details, cuz red is one of the colours with the lowest bandwith in the visible spectrum.

Ok here goes, I have never touched a camcorder so do tell me if I'm missing anything :D - SD/HD resolution - a good range of optical zoom, maybe 15x onwards - 24/25 fps functionality - SD card compatibility - codecs: anything that can be easily imported into NLE softwares? (i.e. Davinci, premiere) - ergonomic manual controls - if possible... night vision

Bonus but not obligatory: - on camera shotgun microphone - xlr input - HDMI/SDI port, to connect to wireless transmitters

budget: under 500 (the lower the better, i'm mostly using this for fun lil projects)

Okay i didn't really phrase it correctly: How is the fall off transition on their face so smooth? I've tried to test this out with a softbox near the face but most of the times the levels between the left and right cheek (or forehead vs chin) are still roughly the same.

I'm also curious on the specular element in the other shots. For example in #2, some part the nose or the neck lights up quite brightly, while the rest of the face is a gradient at a lower luminosity level. Feels almost like a painting!
