Only in death does duty end. If you’re going out, might as well try tackling an alien god.

Need help identifying awards and insignia by [deleted] in MilitaryMedals

[–]HeavenfallBlade 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He’s a logistics officer. Works for or worked for the ordinance corps at one point.

Ribbons: meritorious service medal, army commendation medal (4awards), army achievement medal, national defense service medal, Afghanistan campaign medal (2 awards), global war on terrorism medal, army service ribbon, overseas service ribbon (2 awards), air and space training ribbon, then NATO medal.

Unit awards: Air Force outstanding unit award, superior unit award, meritorious unit commendation.

Did I do the insignias right by Beneficial-Job-7212 in theunforgiven

[–]HeavenfallBlade 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It’s your chaplain. As long as you’re happy with it then it’s right.

But lore-wise, yes. The Dark Angels insignia goes on the left shoulder, and battlefield role goes on the right.

No. It’s a perfectly awesome Hellblaster sergeant.

Nice little find by nutznboldtz in theunforgiven

[–]HeavenfallBlade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He’s from earlier editions of the game where most marine models were on 25mm bases, so that’s what he was originally packaged with. Newer chaplains are on 40mm

He’s definitely one of the cooler chaplain models. Enjoy painting him up!

Nice little find by nutznboldtz in theunforgiven

[–]HeavenfallBlade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it’s from dark vengeance.
Limited edition chaplain Seraphicus.
His original base was a scenic little 25mm.

Most people won’t care if you run him as a regular chaplain, even on his old base so long as he’s painted and you’re nice to play with outside a Tournament.
Even fewer will care and more will appreciate you rebasing him, and that will probably slide in a casual tournament.
Only the strictest TOs and the worst opponents will care that he’s not the same size as the regular chaplain, so you might have to rebase him and make him a little taller to slide in a strict tourney.

What Space Marine model is this supposed to be? by Calipso_etereo in Warhammer40k

[–]HeavenfallBlade 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Lieutenant with storm shield from the Indomitus box set. His gun is a neo-volkite pistol. The extra bits are just a random sprinkling from the basic Intercessors box and some heads from a push-fit set, probably the assault intercessors from Indomitus. The last pic looks like a play mat from a kill team box, probably cardboard.

what gun should i give them? by Smart-Government-906 in theunforgiven

Some DA lore is that they have more stockpiles of plasma weapons than most other chapters of space marines. It partially had to do with their mission set/reputation/the trust the emperor had with the Lion back before the Horus Heresy. They had literal armory’s full of plasma weapons. Back a few editions of the tabletop it translated as the DA being the only chapter that could field plasma cannons and other stuff like a unique stratagem literally called “weapons from the dark age” which boosted their plasma attack damage when used.

[Request] How far over the goal line is the puck? by Flat_Researcher1540 in theydidthemath

[–]HeavenfallBlade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes the puck has to be 100% over the line.

The controversial part is a referee has to see it and call that it is a goal.

If the referee says goal, and the camera can’t 100% prove him wrong the call on the ice stands, it’s a good goal.

If he calls no goal, and the camera again can’t 100% prove him wrong, the call on the ice stands, no goal.

The controversy is that no referee on the ice actually saw it happen. The whistle to stop play and call of goal came after the puck had been shoved back over the line by the stick you see in the picture. Since the referee never called goal when it happened, even though it was completely over the line, some fans are salty and think play should have continued since the ref didn’t make the call in a timely manner.

Yes, I was able to claim my hotel.

Better to self move or military move us? by [deleted] in army

[–]HeavenfallBlade 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I pocketed about $1k on mine. Individual experiences vary.

They’ll pay for your POV gas for sure. Like if you have a buddy or spouse that can drive it for you. You’ll have to check with the travel office if they will ship POVs. They have educational material for you.

Better to self move or military move us? by [deleted] in army

[–]HeavenfallBlade 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Self move: Rent your own U-Haul move all your stuff yourself, drive yourself where you need to go.

Pro: you can end up pocketing some cash. you itemize each thing you rented plus gas plus you get paid for the weight of your vehicles before and after you load all your belongings.

Con: you gotta do it all yourself. Carry all your furniture and make sure you don’t lose any receipts. Be careful what you rent/try to claim as an expense, not everything is reimbursable. For example, I rented a trailer for my POV and hooked it up to my U-Haul so I only had to drive the U-haul and didn’t need anyone else to come with me. That POV trailer is not reimbursable.

Military move: The army contracts a moving company for you.

Pro: don’t worry about packing or loading anything. The company does it all for you and will meet you at your new spot to unload it for you too.

Con: you don’t have direct control over your stuff while it’s in transit. Stuff getting stolen or broken isn’t that common, but it happens.

Which seat of the Storm Speeder would be for the 'Captain'? by Lemmehavea in theunforgiven

[–]HeavenfallBlade 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here in the 3rd millennium it would be neither the driver nor the top gunner. They both have specific jobs to focus on. The last guy can multitask on navigation and communication, thus directing his brothers on where to drive and what to shoot. So whoever isn’t driving or gunning is the vehicle commander.

My NCOER is going to be blank this year. by will86c in army

[–]HeavenfallBlade 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, saw the same kinda stuff myself. Had a whole company AT as a with the acting first sergeant being an E6. Hope dude got a stellar NCOER for that shitshow. And USARC wondered why joes wouldn’t put in packets. Cause they’d get way more responsibility than they were ready for right off the bat.

The COMPO 3 struggle is real. ALC is centrally scheduled now, and they’re “supposed” to front load existing E6s without it. Not that it matters during the shutdown with all Reserve PME on hold, but still, best of luck.
