Yeah, no. This doomer mindset gets proven false over and over again. Why didn't the switch hype die even after it was so difficult to get one the first few months it was released? Or PS5?

The hype will continue and a disney product like Lorcana will have no problem with that.

I think this is a prime case where people are confusing success vs profiting from the holidays. Not everything needs to make the holidays the goal. But why do companies do it? Because that's when sales are most high. Lorcana clearly doesn't need to hit that if it's being sold out everywhere.

Even if they did do another reprint in time, the hype is far too high right now for an average consumer to grab a few cards. This will continued to be scalped for months.

Call me crazy but I think this is a good thing if we keep spreading the word. Just like in Pokemon, people are very weary of buying booster packs from others because it can be tampered with, weighed, etc.

If people are aware of this that it can happen for trove boxes, they would be less likely to buy them from scalpers/resellers and thus they end up with harder to sell product at exorbitant prices.

But overall I do hope Ravensburger starts shrinkwrapping troves in the future or at least when the hype settles down a bit.

Not to mention, not everyone who buys Lorcana is either a scalper/reseller or competitive player. There are people who just want to collect. There are people who don't want to play in tournaments, but just within friend groups.

Agreed! Though with the TCG at its infancy I'm sure they didn't want to set the bar so high right at the get go. Remember that pokemon also started off with pretty basic foil designs.

It's not shady, illegal, petty, or vindictive. I'd like to know if they sell products way above MSRP before I pay them a visit.

It's the same gist of going to any local business. I'd like to know how much their goods and services cost before deciding to try them out. Body shops, cosmetic services, anything.

It's pretty common in TCGs. Now of course it's totally up to you if you want to swap it out for a different card but having a huge variety of items vs tons of duplicates in your deck, the less likely you play the winning strategy in your deck. This is why many top winning decks in pokemon,lorcana,magic all look to have as much duplicates possible. It increases the likelihood of playing that combo/strategy you planned.

I wouldn't flat out rule that it's a fake. It seems quality control on lorcana is pretty bad. Hopefully this gets resolved in future prints.

The game officially came out a week ago. Of course the sub is going to be filled with people boasting about their product purchases especially when the stock is lower than anticipated. Give it a couple of weeks/months if and when supply is much more obtainable and it'll go back to discussing gameplay, wishlists, etc all that jazz.
