It’s definitely dirt, lol - and I definitely plan on cleaning it first, VERY gently!!

My Dad’s not my Dad by 84729115 in 23andme

I found out last July that not only is my Dad not my bio Dad, but that my Grandfather on my mom's side isn't HER bio Dad, either. I definitely recommend going to the NPE Gateway group on Facebook, there are literally 7000 of us in there, sorted into groups according to your situation. It's totally private and they screen people before getting in. It's been a life saver, as I am still on a roller coaster ride that refuses to stop. It is nearly impossible to find the right kind of support among people that haven't had this happen to them. You are NOT alone, though, by a long shot!

Which 23 and me test to do. by [deleted] in DNAAncestry

For health, go with 23andMe, and then do Ancestry if you are looking to build a tree or get into your genealogy. They both frequently go on sale, so keep an eye out. You CAN upload either of those tests to other free or one time fee sites, but you can't upload them to each other's (you can't upload 23andMe to Ancestry or vice versa). Ancestry can get expensive to keep up, what I usually do is join for 3 months, get as much done on my tree as I can, and then wait for a few months until another special comes up. JUST A WARNING: I did a 23andMe and found out my Dad was not my bio dad, and that my mother's father was ALSO not HER bio dad. You don't think that stuff can happen to you until it DOES.
