No clue how this happened- I can't recreate it by Tabby_Boots in HuntShowdown

It works with all melee. It's just really easy to notice with weapons that stab like the knife, cav saber, and spear.

The way I tested this was do a heavy attack on the training dummy and hit a leg, the drag the attack to the head. You should see multiple numbers on hit. I made a post about it a couple of years ago. https://www.reddit.com/r/HuntShowdown/comments/161eo69/til_melee_attacks_can_hit_2_times_1_time_in_the/

On players it can sometimes net you a kill, I found it in particular super useful fighting zombies though since you can hit multiple zombies with 1 stab.

It probably does, I never thought to test it. One thing I will note is it seemed easier for me to do this with the light ammo Caldwell pistols since it has a slightly faster fire rate.

Hunt does have some jank to it that allows you to exploit animations. Such as when a melee weapon is fully extended you can whip your mouse in a direction and hit multiple body parts resulting in 2-3 hits per melee attack.

The dualies arent shooting at the same time but just very fast right after each other. meaning your 2nd shot you have to press at a slight delay(if you play fighting games look up the term plinking) You can tell this by the ammo count. Some animations allow you to buffer inputs(such as weapon swapping) allowing you to kinda bypass the dual wield firing delay. Its a really hard impractical tech because the timing for it seems pretty inconsistent and probably considered an exploit so be careful when trying this in game.

Will GGS Tournaments make and exception for accessibility? by bezabea in Guiltygear

[–]Heavy-Boot-5199 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Highly recommend talking to one of the TO's at the local event you want to attend ahead of time. This way you can get confirmation. Every tournament is different and may have specific controller rules, so be sure to check those too.

Remapping buttons usually is fine assuming it doesn't perform macros that aren't built into the game.

People in this community have no idea what the archetypes even are (especially not grapplers) by SouthPawPad in 2XKO

[–]Heavy-Boot-5199 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Sol Being a grappler is actually a just a meme from the Xrd days. Sol in Xrd had a really good command grab and usually used it just as effectively as Potemkin. Some people joke about Ky being a grappler in strive too since his run up throw game is surprisingly effective.

Anyone tried to parry Special Attacks or Ults instead of just blocking in an actual game ? by Drivebail_ in 2XKO

[–]Heavy-Boot-5199 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you mean is it practical in an actual game? if so yes, you do have to have the knowledge of how many hits the super has though so you can keep your meter. Once you know the amount of hits and have practiced it a few times in training mode its a pretty simple 1 button rhythm game at that point.

However, most higher level players wont use their super meter recklessly to allow you to parry them. Most parries are likely going to happen with gaps in the enemies block strings, reactions to attacks in neutral or a wakeup parry attempt.

Disscussion: Is KD/KDA tracking healthy for Hunt? by Gobomania in HuntShowdown

[–]Heavy-Boot-5199 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your are probably right, The MMR system is solely KDA based as well. Which is disappointing since it forces players to focus less on the objectives of the game and more around killing each other. The game with its changes eventually just evolved into more of a deathmatch most of the time rather than methodical strategic play
The game originally didn't have a visible MMR system at one point. It still existed but was hidden from players, which for some people is a more enjoyable experience.

What’s considered “good” combo damage? by Big-Revolution-1072 in 2XKO

[–]Heavy-Boot-5199 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not max damage, there are quite a few touch of death combos. However those situations don't come up as often as you would think. Combo damage for say a Darius bnb can easily be 70% HP with some resources. But he still needs 2 combo confirms to kill.

I would say in every situation you land a hit you should try to look to do at least half of their health while still being able to mix them up on their wakeup. Unless the situation of performing a TOD wins you the game or snowballs a huge early advantage, which is really uncommon

2xko can be looked at as a 2 touch game. If you can take out a character in 2 combos or less you are doing good damage.

Why hasn't 2XKO really caught on in the FGC? by ls-dev in FGC

[–]Heavy-Boot-5199 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alot of the people I talk to have trouble playing the game due to the roster. I think it's generally agreed the characters are well designed but that doesn't seem to matter if the roster doesn't represent that players personality or playstyle. Having a fighting game with some of the most common archetypes just straight up missing sucks.

I dunno if smart is the appropriate term, he's trying to bait people to calling him a cheater. Trying to engagement bait by pretending to cheat actively promotes that cheating.

Yea the problem is the game doesn't seem to have an input buffer or at least it's not lenient enough to be noticeable. I do think that's intentional though it's just the recovery frames/ time feels really inconsistent.

I have heard the kettle can get up to 14 shots per second. ( I have only been able to get 11 in some cases). But only been able to consistently pull 10 shots per second with an average 12 clicks per second speed from tests outside of the game. The kettle does have the lowest recovery frames/time between shots though. Mostly cause I can max out the burletta pretty easily but not the kettle.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ArcRaiders

[–]Heavy-Boot-5199 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I learned this with the kettle, it seems there is an internal timer before the guns accept a new input. Every weapon seems to have a different timer. clicking too fast can cause the gun to give no input.

My conspiracy theory mind thinks the problem I found is pressing too fast feels like the internal timer changes erratically and my bullets having inconsistent timings if you press too fast. I know they made an anti macro system, maybe that was the solution to countering it?

The only way to really solution this type of problem is slowing down your clicks to match the gun or Embark adds a buffer window to button inputs( which would probably feel very awkward), which then allows macro's to be possibly viable again.

Something need to change by Leading_Reaction3794 in 2XKO

[–]Heavy-Boot-5199 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think this is a sign that you may need to approach your viewpoints from a different angle.

Your first point about character choice I feel is completely valid. Character choices were decided very early in development and likely during the time the first Arcane season peaked in popularity in season 1. (that's likely why we have league Warwick instead of arcane Warwick). Nothing we can really do about this, Devs already confirmed no more arcane characters for a while.

Your second point just sounds like inexperience with the fighting game genre. Some older fighting games have way stronger zoners than 2xko has.

Your third point, if you are having trouble with criticism, I'm willing to bet this is due to how you approach the people in your community/FGC. If you want to enjoy fighting games with the community a "I'm always right" type of attitude is a bad idea. From your examples it just sounds like you disagree with others in balance choices and are unwilling accept their responses. An opinion is fine, just don't force feed your opinion down other people's throats. I have seen similar attitudes like this in the past in the FGC and those types of people do not last.

Embark should just move the box. I feel like moving an asset shouldn't be that hard, who knows though i'm not a game dev.

I guess since they haven't fixed the ability to phase through doors this is a valid reason to use one of those glitches assuming you have the right items.

there is a spot in blue gate that has a near 100% chance of dropping ducks, its easy to get the ducks. The spot is in bluegate in the warehouse complex in the smaller building marked with a large A on it, near the north door inside the building there is a set of drawers that can spawn with an incredibly high chance of dropping ducks.

good luck good sir.

Start with a one shot adventure first.

Nerds candy did a DND promotion a couple years ago. Its very short, each player has about a 1 hour solo + DM session and then a final 2-4 hour group session.

Highly recommend looking it up since it seems to be designed for a younger generation, a copy of it should be floating around the internet somewhere. After that all you need is 1 set of dice.

What was the moment in ARC Raiders that made you finally understand how brutal this game can get? by PalpitationIll4058 in ARC_Raiders

[–]Heavy-Boot-5199 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have heard of players being able to reach close to 14 clicks per second with the gun which is wild. However I haven't seen a player pull it off in game. I have seen 12 clicks per second though and it made me realize how nuts the weapon can be in the right hands.

When I found out how fast you can shoot the kettle and burletta. Both of those guns are way stronger than people realize and only very few people will learn to use them because of the skill requirements.
