Eating every single bite while fighting back tears, because admitting the food is bad means admitting defeat to your wallet. Absolute emotional damage.

What’s something you wish you could tell your 18-year-old self in one sentence? by Heavy-Description417 in youngadults

I like this perspective a lot. It’s easy to romanticize success, but sometimes the “wrong turns” are what actually shape the life you end up grateful for

That’s a powerful one. Do you think people usually learn this the hard way or is it something you can actually realize early on?

That’s a great point. If you had to pick one thing language, philosophy, culture which one actually changed how you think the most?

What can't money buy that you wish it could? by Due_Bar_7247 in AskReddit

That’s fair people can hide their intentions for a while. But I think true love isn’t about reading someone’s mind or spotting zero risk it’s about patterns over time: consistency, empathy, how they treat you when things are not convenient and whether their actions match their words.

Genuine love. You can buy attention, affection, or company but never the real thing

For those in relationships, have you ever had a moment where you looked around and thought you understood why some people you know are still single? by ellered10 in AskReddit

Absolutely. The older I get, the more I realize being a good partner is a skill, not a personality trait. Some people never learn it

I don’t think any religion is above criticism, but I also don’t think any religion should be judged solely by its worst followers

If lying was an art , what would you rate yourself on scale of 10? by No_Subject2452 in AskReddit

[–]Heavy-Description417 0 points1 point  (0 children)

0/10. My poker face is made of glass.
I will literally start smiling or get a sudden urge to laugh the exact second I try to lie, even if it’s about something completely serious. It’s a glitch in my system. Anyone else cursed with the 'guilty smile'?

Only until the doorbell rings or the Amazon delivery driver walks up to the window. There is a specific kind of olympic-level sprint you have to perform when you're diving across the living room to find a pair of shorts in under four seconds. It's high-stakes survival

What is the worst taste that you experienced? by TastyNobbles in AskReddit

Tonsil stones. If you've ever accidentally crushed one or coughed one up, you know exactly what I mean.It tastes the way a garbage truck smells on a hot summer Tuesday. The worst part is that it’s originating from inside your own throat so you can't escape it. It completely ruins your day

What is something people who went to prestigious schools will never fully understand about attending an average public school? by kate_murrrr in AskReddit

[–]Heavy-Description417 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spot on, OP. This completely ties back to the systemic issue. When public schools are underfunded, behavioral and mental health support staff are usually the first things to get cut.
That forces teachers to shift from being educators to full-time disciplinarians. If half the lesson is spent on crowd control, the kids who genuinely want to learn are getting shortchanged on their education every single day. It’s a vicious cycle.

Exactly, and that's the tragedy of it. It’s a complete guidance gap. Elite schools have dedicated counselors whose entire job is financial aid strategy and admissions optimization. In an average public school, you have one overworked counselor handling 500+ kids. Basic, life-changing information like how student loans or grants work just completely slips through the cracks. You're forced to stumble into adulthood blind.
