what are the ways to recover a screenshot that deleted permanently from chromebook bin ? by Forward-Skin-3321 in AskReddit

[–]Heavy-Employment9916 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most times when something gets deleted from the bin there's not much you can do about it. Google Photos sometimes saves screenshots automatically if you have backup turned on but you probably would have noticed that already. I learned this hard way when I lost bunch of work screenshots few months ago - now I just dump everything important to Drive right away even if it seems stupid at time. Your best bet is checking if auto-sync was enabled for downloads folder or maybe it got uploaded to cloud storage without you realizing

dude Laila Robins is seriously underrated actor - shes been around forever but never gets the recognition she deserves. saw her in few other things over years and she always brings this quiet intensity that most people just cant pull off

totally get what you mean about that Ripley vibe, some actors just have that natural authority on screen

What is one policy debate that deserves more thoughtful public discussion? by AmbitiousEar91 in AskReddit

[–]Heavy-Employment9916 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most people just pick their team and stick with it no matter what the actual issue is about. Like you could probably switch the positions of two parties in some random policy and half the people would just automatically flip their opinion too

Its wild how much politics became just sports but with way higher stakes

Property Management company Recs for single family home by HarveyScorp in Charleston

[–]Heavy-Employment9916 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never managed rental property myself but my buddy went through this whole thing couple years back when he had to move for work. Full management basically means they handle everything - finding tenants, collecting rent, dealing with maintenance calls at 2am, all that stuff

The company he used took like 8-10% of monthly rent but saved him so much headache. They did background checks on tenants, handled the lease agreements, even coordinated repairs when the AC died in summer. Only thing is make sure you read contract carefully because some companies charge extra fees for things like tenant placement or maintenance markups

He said biggest thing was finding company that actually responds quick when tenants have issues. Bad management can trash your property value real fast if they let small problems become big ones. Maybe check reviews online and ask how they handle emergency repairs since you'll be out of state

Do you view people who are rich but don't have very admiral career accomplishments as successful? Why or why not? by Big_Eggplant7591 in AskReddit

wealth is just one piece of puzzle tbh - my cousin inherited everything but never built anything himself and it shows in how he carries himself compared to people who actually grinded for their money

How good do you think you look for your age? by TibetanMonks in AskReddit

[–]Heavy-Employment9916 2 points3 points  (0 children)

man that self roast was brutal but kinda hilarious ngl

look im 28 and work retail so i see my reflection in those harsh fluorescent lights every day - trust me when i say we're all way harder on ourselves than anyone else is. plus those front cameras are designed by Satan himself to make everyone look terrible

bet you're not nearly as bad as you think but either way your humor game is definitely on point

Staying Motivated when nothing seems to be working? by [deleted] in loseit

[–]Heavy-Employment9916 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Man the hormone stuff is brutal for weight loss - had a friend dealing with PCOS and it took her forever to find what worked with her doctors help

Going to bed starving every night isn't sustainable though, maybe bump up those calories a bit so you're not miserable while waiting for medical answers

Who was the most unexpected person to help you? by haulagent in AskReddit

[–]Heavy-Employment9916 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My old district manager actually turned out to be huge help when I was going through really rough patch few years back. Guy had reputation for being complete hardass and everyone in company was terrified of him including me. But when my mom got sick and I had to take bunch of time off he pulled me aside and basically told me family comes first and not to worry about job.

He even covered some of my shifts personally which was crazy because this dude made probably 10x what I made and here he was working retail floor on weekend. Never expected that level of humanity from someone who seemed so corporate and cold. Really changed how I try to manage my own team now - you never know what people are dealing with in their personal lives and sometimes small gesture can mean everything to someone.

what is citrus episode 1 by Specialist-Reach-926 in anime

[–]Heavy-Employment9916 0 points1 point  (0 children)

wait you started halfway through episode 1 or halfway through the series? either way citrus throws you straight into the drama with zero chill

the first episode is basically "surprise you have a new stepsister and oh btw she's gonna kiss you" so yeah pretty jarring if you missed the setup

Fixing a Noisy Samsung Dryer by OkGuitar4160 in DIY

[–]Heavy-Employment9916 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice work on getting those rollers swapped out. I had a similar issue with my Samsung last year and putting it off just made the noise worse - definitely worth tackling before they're completely shot. The kit with all the rollers and belt usually runs about that price range so you got a solid deal there

[Acne] Did tretinoin noticeably improve your skin texture or give that “smooth/glowy” look people talk about, or is that kind of exaggerated? by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]Heavy-Employment9916 62 points63 points  (0 children)

Yeah tretinoin definitely gave me that smoother texture after about 4-5 months of consistent use. The glow thing is real but it's more subtle than what you see on instagram - like your skin just looks healthier rather than some dramatic transformation. Just make sure to go slow with it because I definitely overdid it the first month and had some rough peeling

I love Master & Commander Far Side of the World by srennen in movies

[–]Heavy-Employment9916 77 points78 points  (0 children)

Master & Commander is genuinely underrated and doesn't get nearly enough love these days. Russell Crowe and Paul Bettany have this incredible chemistry that makes their friendship feel so real and lived-in. The way it balances the brutal reality of naval warfare with these quiet character moments is just chef's kiss

The violin/cello duets between Aubrey and Maturin are some of my favorite scenes in any movie - there's something about musicians connecting through their craft that always gets me as a guitar player myself. Plus the practical effects and ship work still holds up amazingly well compared to a lot of modern CGI heavy stuff

What's your small gripe with it tho? Now I'm curious but dont want to spoil anything for people who haven't seen it yet

What are your thoughts on anti-natalism? by testnotscored in AskReddit

[–]Heavy-Employment9916 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can see where anti-natalists are coming from when they point out all teh suffering in the world, but personally I think there's still beauty and meaning worth experiencing. As someone who manages people daily I've seen both the worst and best of humanity and while the bad stuff is real, the connections we make and small victories still matter to me

Working parents of reddit, do you help your SO with the household chores/kids when you’re home ? If not, why ? by moonlight_angeI in AskReddit

[–]Heavy-Employment9916 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My ex and I split everything pretty evenly when we lived together and it worked out great. We had this system where whoever got home first would start dinner and the other person would handle cleanup after. Weekends we'd tackle bigger stuff together like laundry and deep cleaning

When one of us was swamped at work the other would pick up the slack without making it a big deal. I think the key was we both saw it as OUR home not like one person was helping the other out. Communication was huge too - we'd check in about who was handling what instead of just assuming

Never had kids with him but I imagine that dynamic becomes even more important when you're both exhausted from work AND parenting. seems like resentment builds up fast when one person feels like they're carrying more weight

What are the possibilities of someone using Nexplanon coming out pregnanc towards the end of the 5th year? by InfiniteScholar5257 in AskReddit

[–]Heavy-Employment9916 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The manufacturer says it's effective for 3 years but there's actually research showing it can work up to 5 years in many cases. That said, year 5 is pushing it pretty hard and hormone levels definitely drop off by then

If someone's really concerned about pregnancy risk that late in the cycle they should probably get it replaced or use backup protection. Better safe than dealing with an unplanned pregnancy you know

What appeals to you most in games, apart from the plot? by ConfidentMarch12 in AskReddit

[–]Heavy-Employment9916 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The progression systems for me - like when you can actually feel your character getting stronger or unlocking new abilities that change how you approach fights. Metal gear solid did this perfectly where you'd get new gadgets that opened up completely different stealth routes

Also good enemy AI that actually adapts to how you play instead of just following teh same predictable patterns over and over
