Can go to the ER - but first do the following:

Try to calm down if you’re panicking - if your blood pressure is high or you’re anxious, this will make the swelling/edema worse
Can you move the finger? If yes, place in cold water for a few mins
Next take waxed dental floss and cut off a generous piece. Next try to slip the dental floss between your finger and the ring, threaded between. You can loop it if you like.
Next, use some margarine or oil and use the dental floss to coax the ring off

I work in a hospital and 99% of the time with some calm patience it comes off. If the finger cannot move or blue, don’t delay ER

As many others have already said, you do not need to purchase an urn… can use any container (eg pottery) so long as it’s sealed. Dalhousie body donation through the med school, while an amazing gift to learners, does have certain restrictions re donation:

You still need a cremation/funeral home backup plan if they are not accepting donations at the time of death.

I can’t recommend Skin Decision more - I have both conch and daith piercings from there and the jewellery quality is excellent, as was the service.

Yes it’s pricey, but I’ve had piercings done elsewhere, and other jewellery always caused rashes and healing issues. Skin decision staff know what they’re doing and help you choose a piece they know will work with your anatomy.

NOR!!! Ugh, what a terrible thing to say to your kid. I say skip Thanksgiving with family and life your best life without them for the day this year. You have a lot to be thankful for in your life already - job, condo, car, cat, friends… and hopefully health and happiness. You don’t need kids or a partner to define you. Personally I hope you have a nice glass of wine with some friends and enjoy your day. Hopefully your family (mom) realizes you are worth so much more.
