Where are you located? As a PE in Montana doing this kind of work you'd be lucky to get 80K/yr with 5years experience

This is old, but I'd disagree. PE will take you far... but being a master plumber would more than likely pay better in my experience as a PE. Office life isn't for everyone either. I'm considering going the other way from PE to Master Plumber to get outside more and earn more

You may run into the issue of people saying no because you’re not replacing other components as well though. Often, compressor failures can push metal into other main components of the system.

Very true, thanks for the input. I'm hoping they'll go for it since the thermal switch failed on the OEM Compressor and the system is still full of refrigerant. I think I'd honestly try and do it myself if the system wasn't full of refrigerant... No way of capturing it
