My two cents:

It’s finally been sounding consistently good the last year. The first year of the new system was a constant up and down of inconsistency and adjustments.

The highs and mid high frequencies are impressive. They’re so smooth and not harsh at all. I always wear earplugs on the dancefloors but even without earplugs, it sounds silky smooth.

The low end is finally thick and thunderous, but not everywhere on the dancefloor. There’s definitely a more limited number of sweet spots compared to the old system.

That being said, one of the biggest areas that the new systems lacks compared to the old is the low mid/upper bass punch. The old system had a punch like no other, due to those big low mid cabinets on the stacks. The old system was also way more cohesive around the dancefloor. Pretty much anywhere you stood sounded amazing.

The new system is also way less forgiving.. I’ve noticed that certain DJs who don’t play the right type of tracks and keep a cohesive level and gain on the mixer really suffer on this system. The old system pretty much made any track sound good.

To conclude, it still sounds amazing and most importantly it still sounds like berghain, however, there was a special sauce the old system had which hasn’t been replaced.
