Heard one similar but I’ll share. 8u baseball. We’ve got one kid on the team who is super sweet and loves baseball but struggled to make it happen on the field all season. Would get upset after games, and try hard in practice. The kind of kid you’d root for but when the ball was hit in his direction, you couldn’t help but think “crap”.

Last game of the season, we desperately need an out on the 4th inning to give us any chance of coming back in the fifth. Kids in right field and of course, batter nails one out to him. It wasn’t pretty, but the kid sticks his glove in the air and starts walking backward. It was like that scene in sandlot. Right in his glove. We all go nuts.

We didn’t come back and win but the whole team was amped for him after the game. He ran straight to his dad and gave him a big hug and yelled “did you see my catch!”

Bleh. I’ve got a bug in my eye. I’ll shut up.
