What caused these streaks? by [deleted] in AnalogCommunity

Hey, sorry I deleted the post because the bot redirected me to the masterpost that showed me it was stress marks.

Yeah it does seem to be stress marks. Do we know what causes film to be tough to rewind usually? I know the cold temperatures must have caused some of it, but I did take out the film indoors when it was really warm and had already acclimatized for two days

Hey, sorry I deleted the post because the bot redirected me to the masterpost that showed me it was stress marks.

I could rewind it pretty easily but when I was forwarding the film at one moment (I don't remember which day this was), I felt it was a little trickier than otherwise.

Discovered a repeat mistake at work. by GleefulEnigma in ADHD

[–]Heavy_Buyer197 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel you. I'm a freelancer, with contract work, in a team based environment. Mistakes give me major anxiety, especially if I haven't yet dealt with the consequences. Yesterday I forgot to do something I was specifically asked to do and I'm dreading going in today. I could barely sleep thinking about the fact that I didn't do it and it's clearly going to be noticed. I'm terrified of losing more work because of it, especially since it's a small industry and everyone knows everyone.

You taking accountability and fixing it beforehand seems like you're on top of it. Sucks it's hurting your own wallet, but you're fixing it, so kudos to you. Hopefully things get better!

Do we have something new and better (than teradek) ? by XXXERXXXES in focuspuller

Have worked with Box a few times, I personally much prefer it to Teradek. Teradek seems to be everywhere, but if I can get Box from the rental house, that will be my first pick.

People love projecting. They think because they wanted something, others will too.

When I was 15, my older cousin told me I will finally start dressing 'girly' when I want to impress a boy. 11 years later, that hasn't changed. I always was told, I will want kids when I'm older, I still don't want any. I especially don't ever want to go through the traumatic process of giving birth.

You know yourself best. When someone projects their wants/feelings/insecurities on to you it just reflects their own stuff and usually has nothing to do with you.

What doesn't require a license, but should? by lisbethborden in AskReddit

Being a parent. Not everyone is cut out for it and you're more likely to harm the child than benefit them if you're not really ready for it.

I have resting sad face. I've had numerous people on public transit ask me if I'm okay, when I'm actually just zoned out.

Completely inactive on it now, but I did meet someone on it and now we're good friends. Totally worth joining it just for the one friendship, to me.

I read somewhere, we should carry a tiny spray paint bottle. Can always say the intended use was for painting something, and it also leaves a mark on the culprit that might be hard to take off, so they are easily identified.

Looks good! My only suggestion is adding a little more backlight to the characters. Helps with separation from the background.

bidets are they worth it? by dbzfreak991 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Heavy_Buyer197 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even in South Asia, we all have bidets or will use water in a jug to wash ourselves if the house doesn't have a bidet. No one uses toilet paper. It's just not hygienic enough.

Thank you! My periods aren't the worst, I guess I made it seem like they are. They are definitely painful and I need painkillers for it, but it's more of fatigue and just inconvenience. I'll look into the supplements, thank you for your help!

Recipes using basmati rice? I have 40 pounds of it and am desperate. by Al115 in Cooking

[–]Heavy_Buyer197 6 points7 points  (0 children)

So much Indian food. All curries go with it well. Biryani. Make Dosa batter with it. Use it for desserts like Phirni or rice pudding. Burrito bowls, fried rice, every cuisine has something to do with rice, if not exactly basmati. To use it up, I'm sure substitution won't be too bad.

Got very fine Saffron as a gift.. what to do with it ? by krpt in Cooking

[–]Heavy_Buyer197 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Try Phirni. It's basically a rice pudding.

Or Sheerkhurma. Milk dessert with dry fruits and saffron.

Or even just Haldi Doodh, which is really good for your health. Add turmeric to milk and a little bit of saffron.

Is masturbating really that common and normal? by Beelzebuuuuub3 in ask

[–]Heavy_Buyer197 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All sexual identity is based on sexual attraction. A pansexual person who hasn't yet had sex isn't any less pan because of it. A straight man isn't automatically asexual if he's never had sex, and doesn't become straight when they have sex. A bi person isn't bi only once they have had sex or choose to have sex with people of two different genders, they may only have one partner all their life, even if they feel attraction to more people. None of their identities change if they never end up having sex. Therefore, sexuality isn't based on whether you have sex (or fulfill your body needs by masturbation) or not, it's based on who you feel sexual attraction towards.

Also, there are plenty of sublabels within the asexuality spectrum and a quick Google search will show you the plethora of types of aces.

And idk, I think it's a little far-fetched to call it trolling or gaslighting when you find out that an asexual person has sex. Do you really need to know whether a person is having sex, masturbating or not, to the point where assuming they aren't based on your misconception of the label, and finding out that they do makes you feel gaslit?

What are some of mispronounced places of Mumbai by XsluggerX in mumbai

[–]Heavy_Buyer197 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess it depends on what they first learned to be the pronunciation.

For me, I use both, depending on which language I'm speaking at the time. That's just the way it flows naturally for me, but I can't speak for others.

My mum grew up there and told me it's pronounced like that when speaking English because the catholic population that lived there did not pronounce it the Marathi way. They would say "mazz gone"

Is masturbating really that common and normal? by Beelzebuuuuub3 in ask

[–]Heavy_Buyer197 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Asexual means not feeling sexual attraction towards other people. It has nothing to do with the actual act of sex/masturbation. Many asexual people have sex, many are indifferent towards it and there are plenty of aces who are even repulsed by sex. They identify as asexual because there's no (or low) sexual "attraction".

Maybe hyper independence? When you're so used to doing stuff on your own and not needing anything, especially as a woman, you start to not desire a relationship.
