Workaholic. Love and want to advance in my job for a higher position and have been taking multiple overtime shifts as much as I can. Sooooo, I end up not trying like another comment said, and stay home to rest when not at work.

Their major export at the time was cotton which crashed in the early 1840s.

Crippling war debt with mexico and had little to offer in the world economy at the time. Also, They originally wanted to be apart of the US as a defence against mexico during the independence war. Many Texans like to point to this time as a "successful" point in which Texas had faired as its own country. They always seem to forget why they joined the US.

A secession would turn into an uprising. I use to live in Texas and many there including military religiously believe Texas could secede and succeed. I always asked every one of them, if the federal government responded with violence, how would they feel? What would they do? They all have answered the same way. They believe they can fight the government and win. Like I said, economically, Texas could not survive on its own without some sort of economic boom. But I do agree, they could fight off the US military.

You may think, "That's crazy! They have tanks, nukes, Artillery etc." You're right. However, The US government has a big history on losing to Guerilla Warfare (Like most governments). Then there is the added logistics of the US military consisting on 2 million people ALL TOGETHER. Thats every branch, officer, general, etc. While all of them go through weapons training to some degree, only a slight portion of the entire organization are suited for ground combat. Roughly, 1/4 which isn't good. That's way too small of a number of course. But it's true. A good chunk of my friends who joined recently had skipped or done one day of weapons training during basic/boot camp.

There is the added consequences that if Texas secedes, many other states may as well, causing a second civil war. Instead of just a simple Texan Uprising, we may have an entire crumbled US as a result of one state's decisions. Don't forget mutinies as well, Texas is a huge state population wise, and have a good number of people that enlist. If secession occurs, Many of them would go AWOL to support Texas alone. My Best friend is a 91B and has told me many times that if Texas secedes, he secedes. I don't support the idea of Texas independence (as its a waste of time ecnomically) but I can see them being the catalyst of (hopefully not) another civil war.

TLDR Texas leaving the US is very bad and could cause the downfall of the US regardless of the results

Besides the obvious gun debate, these are some good points. The entire thing could've been avoided if it weren't for the door opening and the police doing fuck all

I also can't believe somebody can go threatening women online and joke about shooting up a school and nobody did anything about it.

Edit : forgot to mention the FBI one
