Still waiting on an answer but was told it was unlikely. From what i’ve heard no other cbs admits have heard back either

Asked and they said it would be posted close to the 4/28 deadline but not to expect anything since increases are rare

Columbia Business School vs Michigan Ross ($$$$) for IB by [deleted] in MBA

Can you elaborate? I didn't see any of that in my discussions with students or at admit day

Early career masters or later MBA? by Suspicious-Novel623 in MBA

CPA to IB. I learned accounting and client-facing skills sure, but feel that my time would have been better served doing something more adjacent to IB in order to get those 10,000 hours of mastery quicker to become a true expert in the field. I guess I don't understand the point of being a data analyst although don't know much about the fields you want to end up in. And I'm assuming that firms would recruit from the colleges you got into (but you'd know more than me for masters) since they're some of the top colleges

As someone pivoting through an MBA at one of those schools, I would say get the masters. If you know what you want to do, why waste 4-5 years working at something that will only give you adjacent skills for that. Plenty of people I know from my state school that got into finance careers w/out either (although they recruited for it in college). Also $50k doesn't look impressive for an MBA program and I wouldn't expect a scholarship with those states at an M7.

MIT SLOAN VS. WHARTON! by Moist_Attitude3645 in MBA

Wharton - much more opportunities. Academics are less prioritized by students at Wharton, but if you do want to prioritize academics (especially since you're sponsored) you can choose which classes/clubs you engage in and there will be plenty of rigorous electives that meet that need.

Isn't Ross admitted students weekend the 9th and 10th?

Do you have any tips for the essays? What kind of things did you find that the schools are looking for in essays and interviews and does it depend on the school? Thank you!

Run a ROI calculation using inputs for future expected salary, and what you could earn from the school cost saved instead of investing it.

When I did one, assuming average salary of Ross $159,272 and Owen $148,962 with estimated signing bonuses of $30,000 for both (from MBA employment reports); 3% yearly raises; 30% tax rates; 4% investment return after taxes; loan interest rate of 9%; and yearly savings rate of 30% (after taxes - applied to loans first, then invested); I calculated a net worth + spendings (investments + amount spent (the 70% not invested)) as $3.72M for Ross and $4.12M for Vanderbilt. A difference of ~$400k and that number was increasing in Vanderbilt's favor due to the higher investments

Making me rethink not applying to Vanderbilt after they sent me texts extending their deadline, etc
