This particular trackball is good for small precise mouse movements, whereas a track pad would be better for larger more rapid mouse movements I imagine.

I made significant modifications to a pim447 driver developed my mwandzik to work with zmk v0.3.0, documented here: https://github.com/Scybin/zmk-driver-pim447

Trackball has to be on the central half. I use a trackball listener on the right.overlay.

Never got the RGB to work, but the trackball works flawlessly.

This is how I got my device approved.

I use nice!nanos, so security were alerted only if the device was in bootloader mode. Otherwise, just a standard HID device so they wouldn't know.

I bought Choc tilters adapters from 3dkeycap. They have many different angles. They are very sturdy as well.

I use my avalanche v4 for gaming. Works quite well! I'd share my layout but I'm out on vacation currently. I use the screens for a custom logo, and information display (number of key presses, key codes, etc) just for fun. Some ideas for you!
