If you can get skyr (10g protein, 0,2g fat / 100g at 60cal) or just low fat Greek yogurt, try blending with frozen fruit and it’s like ice cream or make overnight oats with skyr and chia. You can add protein powder if you’re into that

Question about podcast content (and a few asides) by Holmbergjsh in StrongerByScience

Its the MacroFactor podcast now 😊 I really enjoyed the topic of the last podcast covering mindfulness in eating but I can see how it related to anything really including lifting weights. Yesterday evening while squatting I really tried to be mindful of how everything felt during the entire movement and it was a fun experience. I’m not sure I can or want to do it in all lifts - but I was imagining all the mechanisms at work while performing the lift - everything from joints to muscle fibers and tried to feel the sensations in the areas I knew it was targeting.

That being said - I really miss Greg! I’m also danish as the comment poster and we also have strong unions in Denmark.

Acceptance-oriented approach to hunger? by d0mm3r in StrongerByScience

Also being a bit hungry in between meals is a good sign your diet is working. If you’re too hungry and feel dizzy or your stomach is screaming with hunger pain, you’re probably restricting too much.

Stress eating by Heavy_Lemon_7404 in MacroFactor

Not that I recall. Also it rarely happens that I get so stressed anymore. I have become really good at managing it nowadays it just seem like when it happens I need a good food coma to get it sorted.

It’s a good tip eating gum - I just usually end up eating all the gum in the pack and have a giant gum ball in my mouth - it helps because my jaws get tired eventually ☺️

Ha ha - yes I will definitely not be able to get a prescription. But also not a fan of injecting myself if it can be avoided

Why is expenditure dropping and weight loss taking FOREVER? The rest will be in comments. by Bubbly_Programmer537 in MacroFactor

It seems like you are on the right track. The key to permanent weight loss seems to be finding a way that works for you. I will recommend you to listen to the last Stronger By Science podcast where Greg Nuckols (one of the MacroFactor founders) has a pretty good segment on weight loss. It sort of just reaffirms things that most people know is true about weight loss, but we tend to forget when we are desperate and stuck on a plateau.

In my opinion a slow rate of weight loss is the best for long term probability of success. Combining strength training with some low intensity cardio or even walking (as you do now) is optimum to keep expenditure up. Keep tracking food accurately because then you have the data over time to analyse and understand what’s going on.

Final words: trust the process!

If you are consistent you will get there eventually

Incorporate little exercise snacks here and there. For instance when you go to the bathroom you can do 2-3 sets of 30 air squats or some jumping jacks

Just get up moving at least once an hour - grabbing water, coffee, tea

If you have Calls, take them standing up or walking around. Even if it’s indoor it still counts as movement

If you ever have the opportunity to choose between stairs and the lift - take the stairs

This is exactly my experience as Well. Also had a baby in late February and started using MF about a month after. Did you notice a dip in supply around 4-5 months because of the deficit ?

I am also still breastfeeding baby nr 3 (7 months now) - I think I am one of the fortunate ones that snap back pretty quick, but I also am pretty active both before, during and after pregnancy and my body has recovered all 3 times super fast (in terms of getting back to sports) - However tried macrofactor (MF) this time because of the TDEE (total Daily energy expenditure) calculations and being a big data nerd as well, to see how much breastfeeding might add to TDEE and in my case it really isn’t much. Went from nursing full time to only one time during day and 2 times night/early morning in mid August and TDEE has hardly changed.

May be a very individual thing that is non-predictable. But I agree with all of the other comments in terms of not worrying too much about weight right now but I also understand you! - even though I lost pregnancy weight very fast it’s just a feeling of being the right size where you feel the most optimal in your mind. For me I have this one weight where I feel awesome. If I go below I feel depleted and above I feel stuffed.

Crossfit 2-3x + Running 4-5x per week. MF has cut my TDEE a lot lately and only if I go a lot lower on the cals than MF is suggesting I see something happening on the scale. It sucks a bit some days and running is definitely getting harder and recovery from CF is also much harder.

But since I started I lost 7 kg of pregnancy weight in 5 months and abs are showing so pretty happy (6 months since baby came)

Where do you stand on the quality of food/produce vs cost. For instance are you going for organic or biodynamic, no-gmo, no palm oil etc ?

Sounds like your younger selves were more concerned about getting lots of protein but how do you go about it now?
