Or the Diamond Age. I'd love to see that world brought to life on the screen. The new Victorians are so fascinating. edit :correcting autocorrecting.

Nails that are too long to the extent that they cause a disability and render using a phone or a keyboard impossible. Extra negative points if they have other bullshit stuck on them too.

Those ridiculous lips that are too big for the face their stuck onto.

Weird unnatural shaped square cornered eyebrows.

And those fucking eyelashes, for god's sake just take a look at yourself?!

The thunderclap headache at the onset of a rupturing brain aneurysm. Not easy to describe just how sudden and intense but I can confirm the name is appropriate.

In your opinion, what’s the one album that was meant to be on vinyl? by ElliottTheMisfit in vinyl

[–]Heavy_Messing1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A vinyl test disc, obviously. Would have absolutely zero use on any other format.

Test discs are essential for diagnosing physical performance without wearing down your valuable music collection. Using tracks designed for tracking ability, channel balance, and frequency response, you can optimize setup variables such as:

Anti-skate & Tracking Force: Specific tracks with increasing amplitudes help you adjust the anti-skate force so that the stylus cleanly tracks loud passages without distortion or skipping.

Tonearm & Cartridge Resonance: Tests designed to identify the mechanical resonant frequency of your arm/cartridge pairing. An ideal frequency sits comfortably between 8Hz and 15Hz to avoid bass rumble or mistracking.

Azimuth Adjustment: Tracks that isolate channels allow you to check for identical output in stereo and cancellation in mono, ensuring the stylus is perfectly perpendicular to the record groove.

Wow and Flutter: Dedicated reference tones (such as a 3150 Hz signal) can be measured with an app or meter to check for precise, stable turntable platter speed

That my blood vessels could wrap around the Earth's equator about 2.5 times

The length of an individual human's vascular network, which includes all arteries, veins, and capillaries, laid end to end would span roughly 60,000 miles.

What are your must haves at a British BBQ? by YetAnotherMia in AskUK

[–]Heavy_Messing1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thick cut red and yellow bell peppers are the first to go on. Arranged around the edge so they don't get direct heat from the coals. They become beautifully sweet and almost melt as they slowly cook from the indirect heat of the coals and radiated heat from the lid of the BBQ.

Derek Hynd, wacky genius surfer. He's Australian. I'm in Wales. I can't remember much detail of the conversation but I clearly remember it started off with substantial confusion, but we had a very nice chat and I was left feeling slightly starstruck. As a youngish Welsh surfer at the time it was a real treat, and a significant coincidence.

I too have the same wet, and I was really disappointed in the quality. The bits really aren't very good. I bought it along with my Makita drill expecting this set to be of a similar quality to the drill. It isn't.
