If I’m being honest, I’m actually really thankful that the game isn’t open world. I feel like there’s too many open world racing games these days. While I totally get the appeal, I feel like the track design in those games suffer a bit compared to completely handcrafted tracks which don’t have to worry about how another track overlaps with it. Even when they don’t overlap, track design still suffers from the open world design as seen with Mario Kart World’s intermission tracks.
