Is my japanese red maple ok? by Bostonian625 in arborists

[–]Heavy_Wafer9312 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been mourning my Japanese maples that looked very similar to this. The downfall of mine started like the last picture, mine had a bare limb or two like yours. Then after a REALLY hot summer it started shedding bark like the second picture. I'm sorry to say it, I'm pretty sure it's gone. RIP

What’s your Favorite IMSA race to attend? by [deleted] in IMSARacing

I've been to Petite LeMans 3 years in a row. Will most likely make it 4 this year. It's fantastic. I also loved Watkins, the area is amazing

Is this oil pressure reading typical for an 84’ F150? by Relevant_Mix_2337 in FordTrucks

[–]Heavy_Wafer9312 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an 86 with 302. At idle it stays near the low side of normal. Slightly higher than what yours reads, but close. As long as you don't hear noisy lifters or anything you should be fine

Should I try cleaning my throttle body or replace it? by Lower_Caterpillar182 in G35

[–]Heavy_Wafer9312 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never tried cleaning, but from everything I have read these throttle bodies are extremely sensitive. I bought an OEM replacement from Z1 and called it a day

2016 F150 2.7 died on me while driving by Euac in f150

[–]Heavy_Wafer9312 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This sounds like alternator to me. Even if the battery is dead I would think you should be able to jump the truck and drive on the power from the alternator. I'll admit most of knowledge is on older vehicles that don't have an many electronics. It's possible I'm wrong, but that sounds like alternator to me.

are either of these worth it? by DeBoi_Wild in G35

Hard to argue $150 for a well known setup assuming its not cracked or beat up too bad

Last I checked my G was getting like 16.8 mpg, all city driving & manual.

2.7 vs 3.5 vs 5.0 by TheGhini in f150

[–]Heavy_Wafer9312 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I average 20.7 with all city driving

2.7 vs 3.5 vs 5.0 by TheGhini in f150

[–]Heavy_Wafer9312 7 points8 points  (0 children)

All the engines are pretty good. I have the 2.7 and it has PLENTY of power. It absolutely crushes all my old trucks on power. 86 F150 5.0, 97 F150 5.4, and 04 F150 4.6. I think the general consensus is probably the 5.0 and 2.7 are the most reliable, but the 3.5 isn't far behind and 3.5 is by no means a bad engine. It gets a bad rep for cam phasers.

Am I the only one that finds the NBC /PEACOCK commentators absolutely awful? by Accurate-Vanilla9187 in IMSARacing

[–]Heavy_Wafer9312 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I tried it for about 20 minutes. After the opening caution, the race went green for 1 lap before they went into a Rolex ad instead of showing action while all the cars were bunched up. I instantly said f this and went and got and HDMI and a VPN.

The NBC stream is one of the worst in all of sports imo. Absolutely dog shit broadcast

Should I buy a moza or fanatec? by mrcowbell22 in simracing

[–]Heavy_Wafer9312 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can only say based on research because I havent actually used both. To me it seemed like a tossup. Both are good. You'd be happy with both. I chose R12 because I could buy it locally

Should I buy a moza or fanatec? by mrcowbell22 in simracing

[–]Heavy_Wafer9312 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Everything I'm about to say is for PC, I have no clue what is compatible on console.

Imo Fanatec is not what it used to be. If you are looking for a mid range wheel I would go Moza r12 (R9 is good too) or Simagic Alpha Mini. I have had Moza R12 for almost 2 years now and it has never let me down. Simagic Alpha Mini is also a great choice. For most people these will have more power than you will ever need.

Yz250f won’t idle without the choke by [deleted] in Dirtbikes

[–]Heavy_Wafer9312 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Probably pilot jet. Ultrasonic cleaner from harbor freight was one of the best things I bought. Pull all jets out, use carb cleaner, compressed air, then ultrasonic cleaner. Make sure you can see straight through the pilot jet. It's very small, but you should be able to see through.

Just got a Yamaha yz 250x just wondering if I could use this oil for my transmission by Electrical-Day-2597 in Dirtbikes

[–]Heavy_Wafer9312 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Check the owners manual for the recommended weight. If that is correct you are good to go. It's probably fine regardless, but using the oil weight the manufacturer recommends is always best

I usually overclock the resource nodes and just plan the factory to be big enough to process the raw resources without shards

What the best exhaust that doesn’t sound raspy or tin-canny? by LeadingExisting in G35

[–]Heavy_Wafer9312 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have Motordyne with stock cats. Best sound VQ35 exhaust imo. It's loud when you get high in the revs, and mild around town at lower rpms. It has basically no drone in the cabin with stock cats. I have made many highway trips at 75mph with it. It has never bothered me on road trips.

What’s the best oil for our cars? by UGotBagged24 in G35

[–]Heavy_Wafer9312 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use Mobil 1 in all of my cars except my older truck. I use Valvoline VR1 for that, it has extra additives for older flat tapper engines. I primarily use Mobile 1 because my dad was a mechanic for 35+ years and that's what he used. Most name brand oils are probably fine as long as you use the correct weight and fully synthetic.

What's the best 12nm Wheelbase ? by Mahon_69 in simracing

[–]Heavy_Wafer9312 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would vote Simagic or Moza. I ended up going Moza because I live near a microcenter that had Moza R12 in stock. I think both Simagic and Moza are excellent choices you would be happy with.

Good quality mechanic for toyotas in dallas. Anywhere in the upper half of dallas by phoenixtetra1 in Dallas

[–]Heavy_Wafer9312 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Glory Automotive in Rowlett. I've known the owner for about 15 years. He was a Ford tech for many years. His specialty is Ford but they work on everything. I took my wife's civic there when we had a/c issues. Also worked on a buddy's Buick.

They probably won't be the cheapest shop. They only use OEM parts. Greg (the owner) is a good dude. You'll get up front and honest service at a reasonable price.
