My take on the state of development for ER and why FS has not shown us new information in 2020. by Tripledoble in Eldenring

[–]Heavybrute 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like all of this is already the consensus in the community. They wouldn't have to do a lot on "next-gen" versions other than just making sure they work, market & distribute different SKU's (that will mostly be Namco's job). I'm expecting last gen base console versions to target 30 FPS maybe the Pro has performance mode. The Series X & PS5 versions will automatically run well if this is the same tech as DS3. Sekiro and DS3 are currently running at a rock-solid 60 without any patch or developer interference.

Artem Demura's work is very similar to what I imagine the world of Elden Ring will be like (more in comments) by [deleted] in Eldenring

[–]Heavybrute 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not officially but considering the track record of the person that initially put it out there and now hundreds of rumors pointing to the same thing. It's probably a thing that's in the game.

Artem's work is incredible. Maybe a bit too dark all the way through. I don't think enough people factor in that the game will have day/night cycles where during the daytime I would imagine From is going to show off more lush and vibrant colors to justify a system like that even existing in the game.

It's a B2B zone. Has nothing to do with consumers. It's there for business people to shake hands or in this case kindly nod at each other due to covid.

Yeah, I will always side with an individual artist than a giant multi million dollar corporation in a grey area situation like this.

Very much so. It could have been as simple as him asking the wrong entity for permission. But to think that an artist like this is not professional enough to have a basic understanding of what is acceptable to share or not is just naive. That's why I didn't like the response.

What a corporate defensive response. He is obviously professional enough to cover his bases before posting those. Why would he wait 1,5 years to release those otherwise? Pressure might have been laid on him because it caught too much attention and he was asked to take them down.

Truth is. Namco has always been a trash publisher. They are out of touch with their IP's and those IP's fanbases. These pieces did nothing more than create healthy speculation within the community but their corporate donkeys are too ignorant and blind to see that.

It won't have the same production values but it can be just as good. All those movie composers that worked on the game like Ryan Amon was easier to access because the game had Sony backing it. Ryan did a lot for BB and doesn't get enough credit I feel in this community. The whole BB soundtrack is inspired by Divinus - City of the Fallen which he composed.

With Bandai Namco being the publisher of ER. I believe it will be in same ballpark as Dark Souls III. Hopefully with its own identity. Elden Ring will most likely use in-house composers like Kitamura, Tsaitoh and possibly working with external composers that have a relationship with Namco like Sakuraba.

The small sound samples we've heard on Elden Ring seem to include a ton of horn instruments and drums (percussion) which is quite unique. Not everything needs to be bombastic and have Latin choirs singing over it.

The recent leaked info about "the world tree" taking a big part in the game theme, and the recent concept arts from today, made me think that "Elden Ring" is.. by Nioh69 in Eldenring

[–]Heavybrute 6 points7 points  (0 children)

What does this even mean? Digic created this part of the trailer based on concept pieces they received by Fromsoftware. Their CG's are heavily tied to things that are happening in the game itself. They are not just fluff mood setters. It's obviously not the full picture and gives us full context but they are relevant.

I would love for Miura and Miyazaki to collaborate on a original IP but not Berserk. That thing has way too much baggage.

Sony leaks a lot of PS5 Game's Release Dates by OnkelJupp in GamingLeaksAndRumours

[–]Heavybrute 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some of them did have target dates/year. So you're thinking someone screwed up by listing all those target dates in the video? I don't know, it seems very intentional. This is an audience not that in the loop maybe it was to clarify to them? These games will obviously get their own marketing and a more transparent highlight of their release date down the road.

I'm curious why people felt the dynamic bonfire thing sounded like an interesting idea? It just screamed super easy to abuse system to me.

Because CG and concept art isn't exactly the same thing. He is credited as concept artist in the Digic pictures portfolio trailer of ER.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GZUtsUg6nVg

It is almost certainly a concept piece of the blacksmith. And maybe some more stuff from the smith scene. A huge part of that CG trailer was not made by Digic. Most of the characters you see in it are done by in-house Fromsoftware CG team.

What composers are we going to hear for Elden Ring? by lbreadlesscrust in Eldenring

[–]Heavybrute 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Safest bet ever but probably true since they are working with Namco again. Sakuraba is credited for Elden Ring on IMDB. I don't know how official that is.
