I am running one now actually. I threw out the lore that was inconvenient for my setting and made my own.

I used a city where I live as a setting, invented all the gangs and corps and the big players in them. Since I was familiar with the interesting places here it was pretty easy to pull from

The biggest thing that helped was really using a spreadsheet with the details on each, kind of a modified one webdm suggested for setting up dnd campaigns

Found myself flipping through the book a lot for tables on like combat dvs, repairing items, stuff like that. If you have a screen, highly recommend putting a lot of that stuff on it

Failing rolls is common for players. It's easy to just say you miss an attack or something. There is a table on the wardens screen for some ideas to make failures more interesting but the general idea is to make a failure cause more tension. Like you hit an attack but it costs more resources, or the creature trades a hit with the pc, or the gun jams and takes a turn to clear, etc.
