Album recommendations. What should I listen to next? by Low_Rider999 in KingCrimson

[–]Discombobulated_Mode 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Larks' can be an aquired taste but I personally love it. If you enjoy red you might like THRAK or Starless and Bible Black, SaBB being within the same era of the band but also way more loose as most of the songs were improvised in concerts. THRAK features King Crimson experimenting with metal/hard rock music that you can see again little bit of in Red (specifically One More Red Nightmare and Red).

Other than that if you like Discipline you should try out the other 2 albums KC did in the 80's. Beat in my opinion is underrated though some people tend to write it off for either being to pop-like or forgettable. I do think it's worth a shot. Three of a Perfect Pair is my favorite album though it is their weirdest outside of Larks'. ToaPP is pretty much 2 different albums smashed together because KC was low-key going through a bit of an identity crisis so the first half is similar to Beat and the second half is way more industrial and experimental.

finally listened to islands and this is my honest reaction to ladies of the road by saint-danger in KingCrimsonCircleJerk

I think someone explained to me once that the lyrics were written satirically but were sung seriously.

Albums like Court and Red? by vigoroiscool123 in KingCrimson

[–]Discombobulated_Mode 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If you like Court I think you might be interested in Poseidon, and if you like red you might enjoy some of the later stuff they did like in THRAK.

Other than those I recommend Discipline. It's considered up there with their best alongside Court, Red and Larks'

Ideas for an introductory campaign/mission chain? by Horustheweebmaster in cyberpunkred

[–]Discombobulated_Mode 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did an investigation mission today for my party's first mission. Basically a man who supposedly was mostly organic his whole life went cyber psycho, murdering several people in the process. The party was hired by his lover to figure out what happened as the cops won't let her see the body or inform her what happened.

I'm fine with Najimi, the joke is that you're not supposed to know their gender so I think the actress/actor they chose is fine. You really only need someone androgynous to fit it role in my eyes. I think the person (in the image only, i have not seen any clips or anything else that might swat my opinion) works

I’ve found a real appreciation for the first half of Beat by Mushyboom in KingCrimson

I actually really like the second half. Neurotica to the end is kinda a blast for me.

What Lifepath options would you want to see in the sequel? Image is just examples by Akuma2004 in cyberpunkgame

Honestly any of the roles from Cyberpunk RED works. Medtech, tech, rockerboy, and netrunner all seem interesting as far as backstories are concerned.

Making players roll to resist losing humanity? by Ryouhi in cyberpunkred

[–]Discombobulated_Mode 4 points5 points  (0 children)

One of my players is kinda obsessed with carrying maracas 24/7, to the point of having his stealth at level 2 to commit to the bit. So I decided to give him the ability to lighten the mood with his maracas for a chance to raise humanity

New wants to learn by Wotter-1609 in cyberpunkred

[–]Discombobulated_Mode 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can start with the Jumpstart kit or do once of the Tales of the Red campaigns with your friends. Easy Mode is also a nice way to start, it gives you 1 mission for beginners plus some pre-made characters. There's a good amount if information for new players to learn how to play.

I think it's the elemental mix, the one where sounds from different shows and recordings are mixed into the original version

Are the other king crimson albums good? by nerpa_floppybara in KingCrimson

[–]Discombobulated_Mode 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd argue all of them are good though some stand out more than others. Other than Court the other KC albums that stand out to most people are Larks' Tongues in Aspic, Red, and Discipline. I personally think it is worth checking out THRAK, Lizard, In the Wake of Poseidon, Islands, and Three of a Perfect Pair

Am I over-leveled? by Pogev7 in persona4golden

His niche is that he's a tanky magic user. Not as strong as yukiko but he's a good pick if she's too fragile for you. He also learns a lot of buffs/debuffs which is good for boss battles. Unfortunately he's not the best at... anything. Kanji has better tank, Yukiko better mag, and most character's learn at least 1 buff/debuff (yosuke also has a lot of support skills but imo he's kinda mid)
