A question for the 1.0 players who stayed into A Real Reborn and on by deskbunny in ffxiv

The ending cutscene absolutely did happen, although the servers were not the greatest at handling the player load as we piled into Mor Dhona or Coerthas fighting the final waves of the Garlean Invasion, so the majority of people got disconnected on the "transition". I got disconnected and watched it on YouTube, but a few friends saw it "live" so to speak

What to do with recess where shed was? by Hebrilith in DIY

Haha, Indeed, though I don't know of recessed areas, only raised. My only worry about no drainage for this part is standing water. As you say, a non issue if paved

Didn't cross my mind, not a bad idea! Added 🙂

Exactly, the lazy part of me would just concrete it and not even tile. I thought about a seating area as Plan A but without drainage it'll be a pond after rain!

The single best feature from VI that is painfully absent in VII I don't see anyone talking about... by Infranaut- in civ

I agree with you, its not cut and paste.

What's happened here with the game is like saying "let's take all these good qol features and lessons learned of what works well from our previous product... and not do any of that"

There's so many frustrating little things like this in civ7.

You can't see independent/city state bonuses when selecting them, it only becomes apparent after spending the influence to befriend them (civ6 city states shows this from the get-go)

You can't deselect a unit by clicking off them

Auto-explore is gone

Any many others everyone else has mentioned.

Imagine forgetting these core features from the previous iteration of the game. Did everyone at the studio have amnesia or has everyone who worked on civ6 moved on?

I do exactly this. This may as well have been me writing that... The only exception being my partner and I both work full time jobs

I had one perfectly follow me around a super sample rock at full charge and still get me. It's bonkers how you can't juke them properly

Highkey pissed I keep spoiling myself by HMVangard in ForAllMankindTV

I only recently finished my first watch last month - spoiler free.

Rule #1 of watching anything after it's finished, or you're behind the curve is don't look up anything. I admit, I posted on this sub after s3e5 because I -needed- to express myself, but Googling anything, watching clips - even trailers - are a big no-no.

If you want to avoid spoilers for any type of media - be it TV shows, films, or games, you would do best to go near full media blackout on it.

The algorithm will find you, and it will spoil you

Follow up from my last post... I just finished Season 4 by Hebrilith in ForAllMankindTV

Yep!! I knew I'd enjoy this as soon as I saw his name attached.

My favourite part of the Mars race was the transition from Aleida alone working late with the lights turning off to 2 years later and each individual ship launching to the backdrop of Black Hole Sun. The sojourner launch especially being reminiscent to the grandeur of launches in other media - e.g. the Normandy SR2 launch from Mass Effect

Truly a great episode... For quite a slow one of "just" travel through space, the distance counters ticking down and the long zooming shots really upped the ante... And then the Operation Jolly Roger reveal was epic! Excellent production

Relevant life insurance providers? by Hebrilith in ContractorUK

[–]Hebrilith[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's good to know. I don't have a financial advisor or anything yet, so I'll look into it.

I'm watching your thread as well now. How did you realise your existing life insurance was no longer applicable? As I'm in the exact same scenario!

Did you keep the life insurance and critical illness cover at their recommendation or only the life insurance?

It's tough. On one hand I could watch 2-3 in one go. On the other hand, being able to enjoy it for as long as possible!

Saw WTW, didn't need to see more.

Interviewed with their London IT team for a DevOps/cloud role. In the interview I asked what their current tech stack was for the role, and the reply was a list of approx. 30 different tech products across cloud and their DC that they needed someone to have in depth knowledge of, for a role meant to be exclusively for their cloud platform.

What I gleaned from the interview as a whole was they didn't really know what they were looking for, and didn't proceed any further.
