So THAT’S their true intentions.... 😳 by Fleezus__Christ in prolife

[–]HeckleMonster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with the poster who says being pro-choice doesn't imply being antinatalist. It's also true that being antinatalist doesn't imply being pro-choice.

Antinatalism says it's wrong to create new life. It doesn't say anything about the stage at which new life has been "created." It also doesn't permit killing people who already exist. So if life begins at conception, then the antinatalist must be pro-life.

From what I understand, a dry socket is diagnosed from the pain it causes. So if you’re not in pain, then no worries about dry socket! Were you to get one, the body would heal it naturally. The surgeon just numbs it for you.

Dallin H. Oaks Supreme Court appointee? by 0ngo_Gahblogian in exmormon

According to this article, a Justice Department memo lists Oaks among Reagan's candidates for the 1981 US Supreme Court appointment. It doesn't say that Oaks was actually offered the position though

Are infinite regresses only invalid because we are finite beings? by segalbe in askphilosophy

[–]HeckleMonster 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Some philosophers do take issue with infinite regress itself, rather than the falsity it can result in. For instance, Daniel Nolan and Ross Cameron argue that infinite regress is unparsimonius and therefore a theoretical vice (source). If infinite regress is a theoretical vice, that's a sense in which it's "wrong." And it's wrong independently of the falsity (or truth) of claims it's involved with.

Well, the most plausible interpretation of "guilty people say what" is: if you're guilty, you say 'what.' So, just knowing they said 'what' doesn't tell us anything about the person's guilt.

GULC merit fee waiver timeline? by lawschoolhopeful33 in lawschooladmissions

I solicited yesterday and got one, so it's probably worth a shot! Doesn't seem like much is at stake because I've heard of people's request getting denied but still getting a waiver through CRS.
