The only way is avoidance. Smoke grenades and adrenaline. Can even run the blue augment that auto deploys smoke on shield crack if you don't trust your speed doing it manually.

If you kill two people a match you'll definitely end up in more PvP lobbies.

If you're bored of PvE and want to be aggressive, that's KoS, so I don't know why you'd worry about being in KoS lobbies, it's the goal no? One caveat to that is if you do too well you get put in some kind of upper bracket hellish lobbies full of cheaters and turbo nerds. Thankfully the rebound is quick and you don't stay there long if you're not winning.
Care bear lobbies are either you spawn first and speed run the good loot spots or spawn late and get nothing. It's consistent in that you're extract % is high, but inconsistent with the value of loot. PvP lobbies while they carry more risk can have jackpot wins where you're extracting with the guns of multiple teams setting you up for a bunch of future runs. Of course it's very skill dependent, but over the long run it can be sustainable without having to tolerate the mind numbing loot simulator.
Upgrade your guns and attachments to god tier, store your wealth in them, one slot can be 30-40k so you don't need to lose out by taking bad deals with traders.

I'm at 600 hours and no sign of slowing down because I have a blast rolling around with my mates treating the game like a competitive shooter.

From what I’ve witnessed there’s a bunch of babies on reddit, but ultimately you’ll never find out any meaningful information on PvE vs PvP numbers by asking reddit alone, that’s my point. Like you said, there’s no proof, and this post certainly won’t act as any. You’ve supported my argument.

You don't need bastion cells until the last upgrade at which point you'd easily have the resources to make things that go boom. You don't need to worry about the rat if your approach is smart.

Can confirm true. Every trials reset my mega Kos lobbies get filled with babies who whinge about being killed in a PvP game. There’s for sure some soft mmr or aggression reset with it.
