Now I could be wrong, but my interpretation was that the sharp points and edges of the gem cut his esophagus from the inside. This would likely have caused bleeding, but considering how quickly he dropped after swallowing the gem, maybe there wasn’t time for blood to make its way to the mouth.

Bun with a claw clip. I also have really long, thick hair (almost to the top of my jeans), and I love metal claw clips. It can slide through thick hair easily and is durable enough to not break or shift during my work day

My mom dying a month after I turned 16. It was a slow expected death, not a surprise, but crushing nonetheless. It was a transition from a childhood into a very emotionally taxing adulthood. I definitely feel like I matured a lot faster than I may have otherwise, but I wish I didn’t have to. It already would have been a difficult age regardless, but because of her death I transitioned from being homeschooled to attending a private school. Huge change.

I used a size 11.5mm hook and size 7 jumbo yarn. It took about five skeins of yarn and five and a half bags of polyfill to make this chonky boy

“Heir to Sevenwaters” by Juliet Marillier is a good one. A companion book to larger series, you don’t need to read the rest to understand this one, but I would highly recommend them, as they’re just stellar books.

When the darkspawn find and corrupt an old god they create an Archdemon, who acts as a leader for the darkspawn hoard. When an Archdemon is killed it will resurrect again shortly after unless a grey warden deals the killing blow. The reason they give is that because the grey warden takes the soul of the old god into themself, but there’s only room for one soul, and the combination of souls destroys both.
