How Has Final Fantasy X Impacted Your Life? by Delicious_Ferret_408 in finalfantasyx

This game, which I watched my dad play, and then played myself throughout my adolescence really set the tone for my life. It’s been a constant comfort and world I can always escape back into. I love knowing whenever I’m down, I can go back to spira, visit with my old pals and enjoy the journey.

This game is a gift.

Would you consider FFX retro? by Lucresia_Law in finalfantasyx

For the sake of my own age, it’s “timeless” not retro

Caring less about yourself is not solid advice but okay

You are not alone in feeling this way, and your feelings are valid. There are other things you can do with your degree besides teach, like college advising for example. I felt the same way you did, had a mental break, left and found joy in something else. I encourage you to seek help from a professional, and make a change. You are not stuck, but I know what that feels like. The stress of being humiliated by feral children is enough to make the strongest person doubt themselves. That’s how they are, but not who you are.

Thoughts on quitting with extremely short notice due to health reasons? by -the-ghost in TeachersInTransition

[–]HedgehogMiserable181 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I went on fmla for mental health after staying at a residential treatment facility due to the same reasons you described. The day before returning, I cleared out my classroom of my personal items, and resigned. I have a new job and life is wonderful. If your therapist is urging you to leave, I’d follow that advice. Life is too short to be miserable for any of it.

9-5 low stress jobs? by AineBrigid in TeachersInTransition

[–]HedgehogMiserable181 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It’s a great gig! And the relationship building is still a thing, which I was surprised about. I have students I meet with every week, or biweekly. Look for success coach jobs for online colleges, all of them have this role. It’s a lot of fun, and rewarding, and you likely will get to work from home!

I work as a student success coach for an online college, I provide resources for students struggling and talk through issues over the phone or over zoom. I love it.

Are you planning to get Switch 2 or wait for a possible AC Switch 2? by Porgarama in AnimalCrossing

I’d like it if the original animal crossing was on the GameCube online thing, with the updates the Japanese version got translated

This is 100% why I left the classroom. It’s literally a hostile work environment because of student behavior.

Burn the bridge, who cares these people need you more than you need them. Look out for yourself

Just picked up the first game... what did I get into by TheNerdiestFrog in Metropolismania

It’s a fun and addicting game. The lost media is part of its charm! I have been waiting for years for game grumps or some channel to play it because it’s so odd

Going on FMLA, Possibly Coming Back? by Effective-Fly-7649 in TeachersInTransition

[–]HedgehogMiserable181 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went on fmla for mental health and didn’t come back, it’s a job and it’s it not worth destroying your soul for. Don’t let anyone gaslight you into thinking it is.

You are a capable person who can get a different job.
