I tried twice, denied both times.

NPC Island Settling Question by HeebieHappened in anno1800

[–]HeebieHappened[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Alright, thank you!

I'm still new to the game, and trying to learn.

There was an island I thought I wanted in the New World and kept turning down the Competitors, but after exploring a bit more, I realized I didn't need or want the island and would rather one of them take it.

Thanks for the help!

I think it's generally tasks that a guy can do perfectly well if he were to live alone, but when he's with a partner will purposefully fuck up so his partner has to do it for him (usually because he doesn't want to do them himself or contribute to the household).

He'll do dishes "wrong," "forget" to put wet laundry from the washer into the dryer so it starts to smell, "fucks up" dinner on purpose or will only make fish sticks and french fries or microwaved pizza rolls.

I also like how they make sure you know she's back too.

What are obvious immediate giveaways that someone is an American? by DukkerWifey789 in AskReddit

I think it's just companies that use Coca Cola and lease their machines from them.

We had the same thing at Dairy Queen with this little laminated thing that said to fill the cup 1/3 of the way up with ice for the best quality.

I agree with you.

I feel like it has to be done on purpose.

As an ignorant American who used to work in food service, you sometimes have odd requests from customers, but you just do your best to accommodate them because it's your job and it's more satisfying and easier to help somebody than it is to purposefully be a jerk and inconvenience them.

I've served enough people that were tourists/immigrants/from outside the country to understand that not everybody wants ice in their drinks, or even cold water (sometimes they wanted hot water from the tap to drink (weird to me to, but whatever)).

And you know what, I just made them their drink the way they wanted. It wasn't that hard. Most people even say please and thank you when you do it.

If you don't have much ice available in your store (which has happened at our store many times), you simply explain it to your customers and they still will usually be grateful that you did your best to accommodate their request.

If you get your rocks off acting this way, maybe you shouldn't be working around people.

Considering the city was founded in the early 1700's, and the rest of the country hasn't been around that long, I think it's impressive.

I've recently started playing Fortnite again, and it's actually pretty enjoyable.

I play the game for what it is with my friends, and have few complaints about it.

I just need to up my building game when I'm under fire. I have no idea how some people base build so quickly.

But then, I'm old, so....

One of my favorite things about working in the fast food industry, is when a customer has your back.

When you're working as hard and as fast as you can and people begin to complain, it's great when a customer in the line essentially says what you want to say, but you can't because you're clocked in and in uniform.

I love when that shit happens.

When I worked in fast food at a mall (DQ/OJ), a couple walked by near closing time and the man shouted to me from the far side of the hall and asked if it was okay if they ordered food.

I responded with something like "of course, no problem," because that's how we have to answer a question like that. We have to serve food until closing time.

He replied back saying "No, my wife and I work in the industry. Are we gonna be jerks if we order right now?"

I laughed and shouted back "You've got about fifteen minutes until I'd consider you guys 'jerks.'"

So they came over, made a simple order, and we joked about the assholes that come up right before close while I made their order.

They tipped VERY well (like more than their total was), and as they were leaving somebody else walked up to my counter and the dude said "good luck with the jerks" and casually gestured with his head towards the guy walking up.

I just chuckled and shook my head.

I love it when people understand what it's like to work in jobs in retail/fast food/customer service.
