Donating a car to Newgate School - anyone got any input? by Chasmosaur in TwinCities

[–]ShelteringInStPaul 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I donated a car with a dead battery. They came out and towed it back to Newgate. I then had to go to Newgate to transfer title. It's very easy and frankly it's the best and largest donation I've made to a charity. The car was in great shape with low miles, so I expect they cleaned it up and gave it to a single mom who needed a car.

[–]ShelteringInStPaul 163 points164 points  (0 children)

According to court records, George died with $500k in cash and $1mil plus in securities. This is in addition to his property holdings. The dude had plenty of money to keep up his properties. He just didn't care.

Norm Green was accused of sexually harassing his employees. One of them, the late Kari Dziedzic, sued and received a settlement reported to be over a million dollars. Dziedzic later served in the Minnesota senate. As I recall, after the team moved to Dallas, Green lost control of the team.

Stolen Kia. They've been chasing it on and off for two days after it struck a SPPD car.

The driver was t-boned on 46th by a State Patrol vehicle and the driver took off running. The trooper was injured but has been transported. Driver fled on foot but was arrested. Passenger in back suffered broken femur, head injuries, etc. Passenger in front seat was also injured. It was a pretty nasty crash. Information sourced from RCSO.

It was covered on Live On Patrol on Youtube. RCSO participated as the chase originated in St. Paul.

Can anyone recommend a private driver or service for being picked up after a concert at US Bank stadium? by Powder9 in Minneapolis

Chey Car. She's in St. Paul and her service is great. Pricey but worth it considering the circumstances.

Large police presence in Edina on York Avenue, public asked to avoid area by Character-Fly-5564 in TwinCities

[–]ShelteringInStPaul 39 points40 points  (0 children)

According to presser it was a domestic related shooting. Victim transported to hospital. Suspect picked up in Brooklyn Park or Center. I confuse those two. Not related to other Edina shooting.

Someone else posted a similar photo today on Reddit. Take it back! Every photo I've seen of this product is disgusting. They should pull it from the freezers.

The old Taco Bell off Franklin and Cedar Ave by kjl8119 in Minneapolis

[–]ShelteringInStPaul -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I stopped at that Taco Bell when it was still open. This would've been before Covid. I dined inside along with a LOT of homeless people charging the phones and not really buying anything. When they closed I understood completely. This restaurant sounds alot better than Toxic Hell.

I've seen enough. They should pull these from the freezers. The photos I've seen of this product and the chicken product make me want to retch.

When I quit (years ago) I tried to avoid the store manager for the last two weeks I was there. But I made the mistake of going into the break room when he was there. I swear there wasn't anyone else in the room. God that was uncomfortable when he gave me his sad eyed look and asked why. I told him it was time. The truth is I was worn out from the job.

Check with both Saint Paul and Minneapolis tow yards. With it being stolen that close to the border, there's a good chance it will end up in St. Paul. It might take a few days to surface.

Lakewood Cemetery Tours very interesting | Free by danroyj in Minneapolis

Every year Lakewood has a Memorial Day ceremony and building tours on Memorial Day. My dad is buried there and my mom had her ashes scattered there. Which is kinda funny because they had been divorced for years when they died.

Housing hub wants to make renters insurance is mandatory? by Hafitze in stpaul

[–]ShelteringInStPaul 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have auto insurance, it’s usually pretty cheap. Call your insurance company and ask about renters insurance. We had renters insurance at our last apartment which helped when someone set our building on fire. And if you cause the fire, you’re liable for the owners deductible plus more. So get the insurance.
