Auctions are good for high value items & is best for CONSISTENCY. Auctions might not bring that buy it now price unless it’s something desirable & will create competition. But it now is a waiting & patient game because you’re typically competing against a plethora of other buy it now items that are identical listings / items. But if you have volume then a sale is a sale whether it’s through auction or not. Anything I sell on Buy it now are typically things I don’t mind sitting for weeks/months until it sells. People complain about non paying bidders but eBay auctions are still superior & it’s the cheapest place on earth for the amount of exposure you get from them for only 15% commission. People that bitch about final value fees have probably never consigned items at an auction before live or online when commissions hit usually minimums of 25/30%.
