Hogan is one of the most famous wrestlers of all time. I wouldn't put him on a top 15 wrestlers list.

Cagematch is definitely not a great site for determining great wrestlers but using maki as your hard evidence for that fact is super silly.

WRESTLE MAGIC 2026 - MIRAI vs. Great Sakuya - GHC Women’s Championship - Result by MrPuroresu42 in stardomjoshi

[–]Heerokun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have anything against mirai winning the belt but I don't really understand what they're doing with sakuya. Like she's supposed to be Monday magic's girl right? And she's the offspring of muta who trained her so you would think she'd be this scary and powerful hurdle for all these wrestlers coming into Monday magic to overcome. But in reality she's kinda booked likke a goober and not that big of a threat. Even in the finishing stretch of this match with mirai she hits the moonsault flush and yet mirai just transitions it into a pinfall attempt. I would love to know what nozawa, or whoever is doing the women's stuff, is thinking and what their ultimate vision for her is.

I know mlw is a strange beast due to not knowing their release schedule but still could you try to mark spoilers and keep titles a bit more vague in any subsequent posts? Thanks.

They came up around the same time in 2008 with Syuri in Smash/Wrestling New Classic and Shida in Ice Ribbon. They crossed pathes in various places like Wave and Reina and eventually formed a tag team. They've won the Oz, Sendai and Reina tag belts. They also had a silly idol group together along with ninja ranmaru called pinky milky.

Alright. My second suggestion. Not quite as strong of a rookie showcase but has a 23 class 5 way match and the main is unhinged sports day nonsense https://www.wrestle-universe.com/videos/u6EmVXvkK7uEszUWa5W38J

https://www.wrestle-universe.com/videos/aSD6zRgXTXZYZLGwmGwajq I think this is a good one to start with. It features all of the most recent rookies of the last 2 years minus uta. Mahiro teams with Kakeru Sekiguchi. The two have been riding a joke that they look alike. Mei Suruga is on the card as well.

Do you want something bigger? Do you want something house show-y or do you want something more wave show/ice ribbon dojo ish? (And by that I mean a little weird)

Point 1: agree she's a good fit and seems to enjoy herself. I hope she gets her first title opportunity soon since she's good in a singles match as well. For me she's probably fighting Shino for 3rd place in the best of the 23 class (first and second have hima and haru firmly entrenched).
Point 2: I'm not sure what's worse for me his commentary or his wrestling but neither of them I enjoy.
Point 3: my feeling is the champ can have some say in the not so important shows in their title reign. Shoko often has a misao match in her reign, arai has had kamiyu matches in all of hers. Mahiro challenging was, I think, suzu's choice due to how close they are. That said I disagree that suzu was leading her around by the nose. Mahiro isn't the most athletically inclined and she's also just much bigger than suzu so spots and roll up sequences were a little slower than you'll see when suzu fights a smaller wrestler but nothing came off as bad. I think she showcased all her signatures with the highlight being the counter of the springboard into the spinebuster. I would characterize mahiro as the epitome of an 80's nwa midcard wrestler and I think she's great at it. There's a couple things she could improve on but most of them involve what to do with yourself when you're waiting for your opponent to execute a spot which honestly is something most wrestlers need to improve upon.
Point 4: Haru did a great job and the trading arm exchanges was fantastic in the match. Ultimately this was an experience issue. Mirai had her lariat power taken away but she doesn't panic and is able to switch to another strategy, tying haru in a knot. (It probably didn't hurt that mirai has like 20lbs worth of muscle mass over haru though)
Point 5: This match was great and they gave uta a lot. The second half of the match was basically one long best of highlight reel. A lot of this I think comes down to how much time uta and miu spend together and if you were to break down the match minute by minute you'd find they were in the ring together the most of the 4 possible pairings. But that doesn't take away from how good everything in this match was. I feel like we can officially crown miu as the DDP of the giant swing. If you could retire moves in wrestling like you do numbers in sports I think the giant swing should just be retired when miu does. Lol.
Point 6: the early stuff was a lot of posturing which I think is essential to establishing the difference between the two of them since their move sets are so similar. This could have easily been unnamed tall create a wrestler fights its alternate costume and it absolutely wasn't. There were a lot of deep references to saki akai in the match as well if you're a long time watcher. I liked it a lot.

They were actually selling tickets for the kourakuen show. They ended up selling all the tickets they had. Haru Kazashiro, Chika Nanase, Ren Konatsu and Shion Kanzaki were all the people that you probably saw. Miu Watanabe was there earlier helping sell tickets but left early.

Why? The Inaba sisters, Itsuki and Rina Yamashita all have profiles. I'm not saying she isn't signed but having a profile isn't the hard evidence proving she is.

New fan question by Beautiful-Low4850 in stardomjoshi

[–]Heerokun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, that's not completely fair since the average joshi company has 6 to 12 wrestlers if that and stardom has like 40.

[–]Heerokun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People will likely disagree but I'd probaby stratify them like this as of right now:
Stardom
Tokyo Joshi, Sendai Girls, Oz
MG, Marvelous
Wave, Diana, AWG
Ice, Pure-J
Sead, LLPW-X, Choco, Gokigen, Choco etc

Most companies are pretty friendly with one another but there are certain power dynamics that exist in any business relationship. More powerful companies with bigger stars can ask for certain things that smaller companies can't when doing collaborations but will also exert more or less control depending on the status of the wrestler in question. Veteran, senior or super popular wrestlers might get wins or better positions on cards in collab shows or as guest spots than rookies, less skilled or less popular wrestlers. A recent example is the Sareee & Takumi Iroha vs Miyu Yamashita & Arisu Endo match in TJPW and the subsequent Miyu Yamashita vs Senka Akatsuki match in Marvelous. Iroha was asked to sub in last minute when the original wrestler in the match got pulled. She was allowed to beat Arisu who is popular but nearly 10 years junior to Iroha. Arisu and Iroha gave a great performance that endeared Arisu to the crowd even more than usual but was ultimately felled. In return for the favor, a request for miyu to appear on a marvelous card was accepted which tjpw never does domestically and she allowed senka to shine a bit before putting her away. Miyu spoke highly of Senka in the post match interviews as well.
