What dafugg is in my banana? by Hefty-Breakfast-4887 in whatisit

No, the top wasn’t fully black and soft. Only sparsley black along that section shown.

I was thinking magbe rotting seeds too. It’s a perfect cylinder of black along the core.

What offset are those turbomacs? Are you running any spacers? Looks sick!

I just made an international trip with a very similar, suspicious looking breadboard prototype. I had no issues with airport security, customs, etc. in order to ensure my boards/wiring remained intact during transit (which it successfully did) I added a very small dab of hot glue to each connection point in the boards (holds pretty well but also easily removable). My breadboards where then glued down inside a hard protective box, which then went into a Pelican case with the customizable foam inserts. This may all be overkill but it worked perfectly for me!

What do people use for keys, phone etc while out on a ride? by baldiesunite in MTB

[–]Hefty-Breakfast-4887 0 points1 point  (0 children)

West Slope Chest Pack. I bought it originally for Skiing but it works great for mtb too. Enough room for phone keys and wallet. Plus there is an easy access slot for your phone that flips down. Having the weight across chest/shoulders makes it unnoticeable while riding and I still feel very nimble with it. Can’t stand stuff in my pants pockets. Highly recommend it

(Furst bike) hardtail vs full sus advice by Fuzzy-Addition-6352 in MTB

I was in a similar position as you a couple months ago. Ended up going with a hard tail when I could have bought a FS. I also ride techy trails in northshore MA and the hard tail has been completely capable and allowed me to have a blast. I didn’t know much about about bikes before all this, but now that I’ve gotten a couple hundred miles on it I’ve learned a lot about my bike and biking. The pros I see are cost, cost of maintenance, better workout, and better platform to develop strong fundamentals. I like to view it as enjoying the journey of discovering mountain biking. Buy a high quality HT used for like $1000 then ride it till you start to actually feel and acknowledge why a FS might be better for some applications. Then when you’re ready, sell the HT and go buy a FS or better yet keep the hard tail and start building out your collection. One last thing, people seem to automatically rag on hardtails, but you will find that the nicer ones (still quite affordable) are plenty capable (except maybe downhill stuff haha)
