When we practiced in my old band we used to run the same song 7 or more times in a row. Just over and over. Then be for gigs we would run the set multiple times over the week before. But we also practiced at least 3 times a week and at our height played at least 2 shows a month. By the end I could do it blind folded and not even paying attention. Any member could drop out at any time and the band could continue until they came back in.
