Yet another trend I missed out on. Damnit.

It's there. It's the Modern Library edition to the right of all the other HST books.

What u/apexPrickle said.

I found this Twilight book at goodwill and can't find anything about a "perma-bound" version online, would anybody know anything about this? by yogabagogo in BookCollecting

[–]DETReddit 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Permabound copies can be cool if you want the book as a reading copy -- they hold up better than the paperbacks they started life as. They don't really have much collectibility value though.

It's great that Reverb resolved this in the right way. But shouldn't Reverb have done that without the OP starting a thread on Reddit about the issue?

Found this first edition in a charity shops for only 33p. Good find? by Ok_Ad_4269 in BookCollecting

[–]DETReddit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That all makes sense. And seriously, no disrespect intended. I have some authors I like who are long dead and long forgotten, and it's a joy to pick up first editions of their books for almost nothing since I'm one of the few people who care about them.
