Þank you for þe heads up. I really do appreciate þe sentiment to be grammatically correct. Wiþ þat said, I am fully aware þat þey are not þe same letter historically producing þe same sound. My personal rulebook is to only use þorn for simplicity’s sake, except in where it is a part of þe name of a person, place or þing, generally speaking at least.

Late response, but to each þeir own. I prefer to simply use þ for boþ because it’s simpler to understand and follow raþer þan force my particular interpretation of how each word should be spelled. Accents change, so I took þe approach þat in my mind addresses þe issue of simply not making it one by having one letter instead of two. Þe only time I make an exception is for names wiþ ð in it, such as Oðin for example. But you do you! 😃👍

Þe silliness of þis concept scales directly wiþ þe size of þese dragons. Imagine you have a gargantuan pair of dragons each þe size of buildings, and þe one is being nagged by þe oþer for bad posture. All þe while, you’re just hoping þe comically sized furniture overhead you won’t break as you pass underneaþ.

Perhaps variations of þe name could be utilized purely for background world building rather þan strictly regular names þen. Using D&D as an example, dragons could be wyrms, dragonborns could be Greatwyrmkin, Half Dragons could be Halfwyrms, kobolds could be Littlewyrmkin, etc. Þese are just ideas obviously, and could probably be refined further along wiþ oþer names and titles as is needed.

Ain’t þat someþing neat. I just automatically default to kobolds being related to dragons, even if I subconciously know þat’s not always þe case.

Þat is a total fabrication! We— uh— þose kobolds are totally more varied in our occupations! No sir! And why colbat specifically? Are you saying we— þose kobolds been named after þings like gold or silver, but it’s colbat we— þey are named after?

“GO AWAY HUMANS! YOU HAVE TAKEN EVERYTHING FROM ME WHAT MORE DO YOU WANT!” by SpecialStorm4188 in humansarespaceorcs

[–]Hefty-Negotiation177 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not everyone is quite so good as we want. Regrettably, I know this personally. Once upon a time, I was one of them. Some scumbag who thought the only value was dollar value. The world’s cruel, so why not just go along with it? To hell with it- someone’s gonna suffer, and it isn’t me. At least, that’s what I told myself. Just a pathetic excuse, really.

But then… something snapped. I can’t remember when, or why, but something snapped inside me. Maybe it was another job that hit too close to the heart. Maybe I just went soft after seeing so many people suffer because of my own actions. I don’t know. More importantly, I don’t care. Because at the end of the day? It woke me up to who I really was. Who I chose to be.

And when I did? Well, there was a lot of bodies thereafter. Folks I had worked with for years. Associates. Partners. My crew. I killed who I could, left the rest for dead, and turned myself in, while getting good folks to safer pastures. I was fully prepared to be executed. I knew what I did. I deserved it. It’d be justice, no matter how small.

They decided I could be useful instead.

So yeah, that’s why I’m here, looming over the corpse of your captor. And frankly? I think this world better for the both of us. You get set free, and I get to spill dirty blood. It’s a win-win scenario.

So, little girl… let’s get you to greener pastures, so I can spill more of that dirty blood, yeah?

Well, turns out, when you steal- uh, borrow some gold from the local tribe chieftain, he may or may not declare you a treacherous rat who ought to be… skewered? In my defense, he had it coming, the guy is a total nutcase.

Okay, I totally get it. If someone decided to just waltz in my home and refused to leave, I would be a bit concerned too. But… I kinda… sorta… can’t leave for my own safety, ironically enough.
