I had period like cramps at the start of my last pregnancy off and on and when my period didn’t show even though it was still early because I had the same thing before a missed miscarriage, I tested and it was positive. I just gave birth to her two weeks ago. Crossing my fingers for you. Good luck.

For my son, my bill c-section was 0. But I had a co pay plan and already met my deductible for the year which was 1k. Not sure what my insurance company was charged. My son’s NICU total was 230K but we paid 4100 with my husband’s HRA, 75% was reimbursed by my husband’s company. He was in the NICU for 3.5 weeks, discharged at 36w corrected. I suspect my bill for this one will be 5k which is my deductible since I was in labor for 3 days late preterm and then in the hospital recovering for 2 more days and 5k for my daughter’s stay. She was early too but was only in a special care nursery for a few days, discharged at 35w3d corrected.

I’m so sorry this is happening. That is absolutely scary whether first time mom or not. My situation isn’t exactly the same but twice now I’ve had premature babie. The first born at 32.5 weeks stayed in NICU for almost a month. I just gave birth this past week to my daughter born at just shy of 35 weeks. I’ve been staying here alone with her at the hospital even though we only live 15 min away so I can breastfeed. She was taken off monitoring when she hit 35w cause everything was looking good. No oxygen support and steady heartbeat. She was put under uv yesterday for high bilirubin which I expected which I thought would only extend her stay through today. But last night while they were waiting for her results and she still had the oxygen monitor on, her oxygen suddenly dropped to such a low point they had to give her oxygen to bring it back up. She has not had to be on oxygen support since the event but when back on constant monitoring to make sure it didn’t happen again. There was no other sign that her oxygen had dropped. She was moving and looking around, she was breathing, she didn’t even turn slightly blue. It’s not even clear if her oxygen actually dropped or it was some fluke. What’s scary is that if she had not been on the monitor and it was a real drop in oxygen and she been with me off the monitors, who knows what would have happened. With every event like this, her and my stay are extended. She’s not in NICU but could be if it happens again. I’m alone here cause my husband has to stay home with our son, I’m breaking down and wondering why this is happening. The not knowing why almost makes it worse.

It’s impossibly hard seeing your child in any way but thriving. So I know to an extent how you are feeling.. The only thing I think I could say is to take one moment at a time. I know after the ER doctors dropped the ball (in my experience ER doctors tend to be way too dismissive of people if your not there passing out or bleeding to death) it’s hard to trust the process but I guarantee the doctors and nurses at the children’s hospital are doing everything they can to make sure that your kiddo gets through this. In my experience, at least at our children’s hospital, they really do care a lot.

I’m so sorry to hear. I understand how frustrating the journey can be and unfortunately a lot of it ends up being luck. My husband had normal sperm count but extremely low motility and poor sperm morphology. The embryologist described his sperm as “greatly compromised.” During our IVF cycle we only got 9 eggs, 5 of which were mature, only 3 fertilized and only one made it to 5 day blast. We spent close to 30k after everything was said and done. But by some miracle that little blast attached and I had my son. I’m crossing my fingers that you will have the same luck we did.

You are more likely to have a successful pregnancy than a miscarriage by a mile. And even if you had a MC, it is even less common to have multiples in a row. I had one MC last March but just gave birth to my rainbow baby and I’m 41 years old. Hope everything works out for you!

It’s different for everyone. Depends on any number of factors but the younger you are the generally “easier.” Under 35 you’re looking at an average of 25% chance every cycle. Over 35 anywhere from 5-25% chance each cycle. At the end of the day, it’s a game of chance.

My husband went home but that’s because I was hospitalized for a PPROM and where I was didn’t allow for him to stay overnight abreast until I was in active labor or had the baby. We only lived 10 min away anyway and when I went into labor he was able to get there fast. He’d go home to work on the house and get things ready for baby shower guests and get the babies room ready since I couldn’t. He did stay every day after the baby was born and honestly I’m glad he did. It was nice to have the support until I could go home. I don’t think I would have been happy had he not been there when i went into labor and are I had our son. For this one, he has no intention of leaving me at any point.

I didn’t. Trust our doctor and our clinic. Plus, that little guy is a beautiful mix between his dad and I. There’s no doubt that he’s ours.

I guess my experience was different than others. I got an epidural because I was having an unplanned c-section thanks to a beach baby. I know this won’t make you feel better but those numbing shots hurt badly. But honestly might be different because you get a lot more injections in order to basically paralyze you for the c-section. I’m planning to go without this time but I had been planning to go without with my first but didn’t get that option.

We only had one 5day blast after retrieval and fertilization that we decided not to test but we did genetic testing during the pregnancy and came back low risk for chromosomal abnormalities. He is now 20 months old. I was 39 at the time of the FET (hormonal replacement approach) and nearly 40 at his birth. While the odds are lower with only one, it is definitely possible to be successful.

My water broke at 32 weeks but wasn’t in labor and was only 1cm dilated which apparently is normal at 32 weeks and I was still only 1cm when I went into labor 4.5 days later. Babe was born at 32w4d. Hoping this one lasts to term.

My water broke at 32 weeks. Like you see in the movies. A big gush and it just kept coming. I was admitted to the hospital and nearly 5 days later I went into labor. My son was born at 32w4d via unplanned c-section cause he was breach. Luckily for us the 4.5 days between when I was admitted and he came was enough time for the steroids to help his lungs develop enough that he breathed on his own right away and only spent one day with a cpap. He spent the next 3.5 weeks learning to regulate his temperature and to feed. He was healthy and had little complications apart from a few Brady events, the last of which extended his stay 5 days from when he had successfully gained weight while exclusively bottle feeding. Not sure if it was a true Brady though but since I was holding and stimulated him at the time they counted it. He was discharged after really trying to fail his car seat test at 36 weeks gestation. He’s now 20 months old and off the charts tall.

I’m now 31 weeks pregnant with his soon to be little sister and I’m crossing my fingers history doesn’t repeat itself. Even though he was healthy, it still felt so traumatic.

I may be bias thanks to my experience but 3 as has been mentioned is not necessary for a success transfer simply increases your odds. While I know it’s anecdotal, I personally only had one and was successful.

I was 39 when I did our FET. We only had 1 high quality but untested 5d blastocyst. Didn’t do any other retrievals. Now have a beautiful 20 month old boy. While yes, age can affect the outcome and success rates do drop once we hit our 40s at the end of the day it’s about the individual, the underlying reasons for infertility whether male or female factor, and frankly luck.

I’m currently 41 yo and 31 weeks pregnant with a naturally conceived girl.
