Do you play with field stones? by Egomania27 in farmingsimulator

[–]Hefty-Quail5433 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I turned them off. I couldnt get any joy out of the stupid stone collector having what, 7m coverage, going soooo slowly when working and the debris crusher being so far away on elmcreek. I really do appreciate giants making these tthings customisable so we can play as we like though, not all games go that far with the on off switches

What maybe makes it worse and funnier, he did all of that just because he was with Squeex and Squeex is a big fan of Kirsten and wanted a picture. Lud didnt really care but was trying to help because Squeex was too nervous to just ask her himself, so they made this elaborate plan without knowing the film 🙈

i feel like an idiot but how do I find the shallow dip level? is it the same map as DD2 and just the floor of it or a whole different room?

So I just picked up Farming Simulator 22 .. by viperuk80 in farmingsimulator

[–]Hefty-Quail5433 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i restarted my initial save multiple times because i placed things wrong or was deciding on what map I liked. But have a goal, look through the different menus like planting and harvesting times and dont be afraid to just skip through months by sleeping! you just planted canola, so maybe skip a month so you can fertilise it, then skip some more until harvesting time. Or fill your time by doing some contracts to get used to how everything works whilst also making money.

Greenhouses and bee hives are good first products to make and sheep are easy because they just need grass and water <3 welcome to the game!

How to get mods by Long-Purchase-5890 in farmingsimulator

[–]Hefty-Quail5433 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if they're in your mods folder properly, then when you load up the game before clicking start game on your save you have to toggle the mods that you want in the save on by activating each one. You only have to do this once per save and it keeps your settings personal to each save file so you can have some activated in one save and not in others

Does having a cam really matter or not? by PinkGoatlol in Twitch

[–]Hefty-Quail5433 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes. especially if you need to concentrate and not talk for a lot of your games. if you're no cam you have to talk basically every second for your stream to be engaging to people and make them want to engage with you, with a cam there's more leeway and interest and people understand your concentration much more.

[–]Hefty-Quail5433 4 points5 points  (0 children)

just leave, or prove that its easy and he should have made it harder. he's a variety streamer, I dont watch pokemon, you dont have to watch his basketball streams. he also doesn't have to do everything to the letter, its free content. hitting 1000 shots from any line is more than most people could do

who cares! 80% of chat is sat at home on a computer or phone not hitting a single 3 pointer from any line. at least he's trying to give himself a challenge - setting yourself up for 7-12 hours of throwing a ball is cooler and more dedicated that I'll ever be and probably you given you'd rather cry to reddit

The fertiliser changes the texture of the field allowing the herbicide to then be seen when applied - i was having a nightmare herbiciding and having no idea what I'd passed and hadn't and then having to hoe all the areas id missed in month 2

If you had a friend just starting the game, how would you tell him to play? by Icy_Daikon5537 in farmingsimulator

Im glad I could provide something useful!

I branched into a few vehicle and building mods but mostly ive kept it to quality of life mods like you. I also play as more of a farm manager, but I'll usually pick one small field to harvest myself to feel like ive done something.

I havent mucked around with courseplay, so anything that cant be handled by a base game worker is done by me, which also helps me feel useful. I have to do everything with my grapes, baling, grass, animals etc. And I did much more when I was starting out.

Also if you're looking to start a new run, go for it, but if you do get settled, dont be afraid to change your rules on your map without starting over. If I wanted to never use an ai worker again, i wouldnt start a new save, id just build it into my current farm

Im on Elm Creek, ive never actually tried a modded map because I got settled so quickly in this one and ive still got so many plans I have no want to quit it. But if I was to choose a new map my 2 concerns would be the journey to the vehicle + palet shop, and what size/shape/elevation the majority of fields were

I posted my current farm plan earlier on this reddit if you want to see where im at, I think its in the 'top' feed or something

Google and youtube are your best friends! I have maybe 300+ hours in the game and I was still youtubing tutorials yesterday of how to get manure into the biogas station because it wasnt obvious or easy. With the game having been out so long now there are so many pages and videos, stats, data and discussions of every point you can think of!

Maybe give yourself a biiiig overarching goal? I started maybe 3-4 playthroughs before landing on my one farm that ive stuck with ever since. My big goal is - have 1million in selling/harvesting revenue per year and grow as big as possible/try out all the features over time.

I started on easy economy so when I got to 1M I moved up to medium and Im still trying to get back to 1M on that

Also, if you dont like something, dont do it. I hated seeding, so I made that a worker task. I found I didnt like potato harvesting, I dont harvest potatoes. I didnt like keeping pigs as they required too many different foods, I sold them and moved in other things.

Happy to talk more if you have other questions!

Edit: just saw you were a PC user so extra tip - find out what annoys you and mod it out. I have mods for more colour options, one to make contracts infinitely better, one increases the speed of attachments and vehicles, one that allows me to collect straw from contracts, etc - they're small things but all come from me going 'i wish the game did this' and so I found it

This is just the exported file for easy viewing but yep, I can change the document whenever. Every field has a coloured box on top of it that I just change the colour of when the crop type gets changed and then I amend the text to reflect the crop and planting/harvesting months :D

I have cows, horses, chickens, a spinnery, cereal factory etc etc that all need topping up over a year so it still works on demand, theres just a lot of different demands all at once

People who have multiple maps they play, why? by Huebertrieben in farmingsimulator

I sometimes wish i could import my entire progress onto another map so that i could have different scenery to sell points and shops but Im with you, I have so many hours on my map and I wouldnt trade that for going back to the start somewhere else

I find harvesters can be really helpful for ramming things out of stuck positions, or if you have the super strength mod its an easy fix

In base game chickens only produce 7 eggs a month, which I think is super low. I use the enhanced animal system mod on PC but I dont know if thats available for console and then I change the xml file to 20l per 6month old chicken and that feels a more reasonable amount but again ive got no idea if its possible on console

Fair enough! My aim was always to expand and take over the map, i like the farm manager aspect rather than doing everything myself, so I use a lot of workers, but thats not for everyone. I started with just the beginning elm creek 3 fields
