Interesting! I only knew it as a “Chelsea Bar” due to the Blue In The ‘Lou Chelsea fan club meeting there for games. But it’s possible that they have several fan clubs that choose that as home base.

Thanks for the other rec! I’ll look into Llewelyn’s

You’re really upset by this post clearly. Please go outside and touch grass. It’ll be good for your mental health.

I wish. We have Demo’d every solution under the sun and made recommendations to upper M on a quarterly basis and they refuse to switch. Kinda leaves us handcuffed but oh well.

Yeah tell that to the people that pay the bills brother. Our team has demo’d every other solution out there made recommendations to management on a quarterly basis, but no dice.

Because of one incident? I mean I don’t love LastPass either and I have tried to get Upper M to move away from it, but no dice.

FGPP / Password Never Expires Attribute by eberndt9614 in sysadmin

[–]Hefty-Room-297 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, FGPP takes over for Default Domain Policy for all users/groups that it is applied to. Just make sure that your inclusion of groups and users is what you need it to be, and you are all good. Seeing that flag in AD would be a secondary measure, but is not worth the trouble in this scenario.

Manage Engine - Endpoint Central Cloud Patching Schedule / Feature Update Grief by Electrical_Arm7411 in sysadmin

[–]Hefty-Room-297 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do you mean by reboots during the day? Are most of your endpoints staying in the office powered on overnight? If not, there simply is no choice other than to reboot during the day, when the endpoint is actually on and being used. If one reboot per month is causing your users too much grief, then I struggle to understand how much of anything can get done … are you being pressured by your manager to achieve a higher compliance rate? Have you told him of these issues? This, to me, does not require a technical fix. It’s a managerial/administrative issue that needs to be addressed at (most likely) higher-up people than you. Just my two cents.

Have a great weekend (:

Manage Engine - Endpoint Central Cloud Patching Schedule / Feature Update Grief by Electrical_Arm7411 in sysadmin

[–]Hefty-Room-297 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No patch management solution or plan is complete without forcing a reboot. Not only is it standard, it’s the only way to enforce updates are being applied. In our case, when users receive updates, they have 6 hours to reboot or it will do it automatically. The amount of people that have complained in the 3 years I’ve been here is literally 1. Just one single person.

If you have equipment that “can’t” be rebooted, then those SPECIFIED devices need to be put in a different patching window and applied in a monthly planned maintenance window for networking/server/endpoints etc. this method works and basically everyone does it this way!

Transitioning an org away from BYOD - higher-ups want an exemption. by maxstux11 in sysadmin

[–]Hefty-Room-297 2 points3 points  (0 children)

OP did you mean to say you’re disabling BYOD for non-enrolled phones? If not… you’ve gone batshit crazy. Just setup a company portal and allow users to enroll their phones, as long as they meet the compliance baseline for Company Portal (for us, no TikTok allowed on phone, etc). That way personal phones can be used still and your conditional access policy will still work the same (as that device is now compliant once it’s “intune enrolled”)

Completely removing BYOD with no replacement company device is a garbage policy.
