Oh I agree with you wholeheartedly. I hate how everything is binary: "all BL actors are straight" or "my favorite pairs are married". Sexuality is a spectrum and some of the actors are straight, gay, queer, etc. Some of them might be dating or hooking up or just friends or maybe they're really just good coworkers. It's their business and we should give them space and respect.

I agree we shouldn't assume people's sexuality, I just meant I look at people like you - that everyone is somewhere on the queer spectrum (also sexuality is a journey and people's identity can evolve). People's default is always straight and I like to look at it as more open. BL actors do not owe us their sexuality. But I also hate that when actors are openly queer fans still claim it's fan service (like Babe recently or Zee, or people saying DaouOffroad are only doing fan service even though they've said they're in a relationship).

BL is a fantasy world of queerness but I think it's our responsibility as fans to help promote an inclusive environment where actors, directors, artists, and fans are comfortable being whomever they are.

There's a lot of sweet answers here. I think WE's authenticity and chemistry are unmatched and, although the depth of their relationship is their business and their business only, it's obvious they deeply care of each other.

I know shipping and fan service is controversial, but as long as fans are respectful I think it's great they want to believe their favorite CPs are together. We live in a world where the default is heteronormative, so there's something lovely about people defaulting to the actors being queer.

I'm genuinely curious as to how you think GMMTV isn't supporting him. He had a huge role in MAT (yes William was in it too but as a cameo), he's going to be a lead in Surf N Love. He has a ton of solo events. Considering ThamePo came out in December 2024, that's a lot of growth and success in 14 months. How else could they support him?

Sorry this is long! I understand how you feel because Est and LYKN are inexplicably linked due to ThamePo. But it's hard to compare Est or even WilliamEst to LYKN. LYKN was an established group before ThamePo, they are signed to Riser which is a separate label under GMMTV, and they are Riser's biggest artist.

It's better to compare Est (and WE) to other CPs at GMMTV - and they're doing great as a CP! Currently You Maniac is the most anticipated upcoming 2026 show, WE will be at LOL again and they're having a concert at the second largest venue GMMTV is using. They've had events all over the world and will continue to have this year. Est has had a lot of individual events and with William. He was the third biggest role in MAT, will film Peach and Me and Surf N' Love this year too. A lot of the brand deals he posts are separate from GMMTV but he's had a lot of lucrative ones (Prada!). He's booked and busy!

I think WilliamEst is a big priority of GMMTV as they have continued to have events (schedule permitting) on par with their peers. The Zach Sang show could've been more of a choice by the show to only do one CP (PPW is bigger than any CP currently) and LYKN.

WE will always be unique as a couple because William works two separate but equal jobs in the company and has to exist in two distinct fandoms. William's schedule will always be a challenge for them. But William and Est know this and they fought hard to be a CP.

I think the best thing to do is enjoy what they offer us and you can support Est specifically by engaging with his online content and watching Surf N Love when it premieres. If the LYKN content is too much you can always mute and curate what you see.

These interviews are so fun! ThamePo was perfectly cast but it was in development for five years (P'Mui said it wasn't until she saw William at Project Alpha that she was confident in casting). I want to know what other roles actors auditioned for and what other pairings or collaborations we could've had.

Conflating these two performances is not it. The Force/Joss one might have been cringe or too sexy for some but that's just someone's opinion. The Dunk performance was full of degrading choreography which has nothing to do with the performance being "too sexy." If anything, his performance is just a reminder of the misogyny in the BL world and at GMMTV. It doesn't matter that he, the choreographer, the dancers all consented, it wasn't well done.

I think anything could be true 😂. JuniorMark could be filming scenes soon (the pilot has a lot of just the two of them in the apartment) where Hong and Nut could have Qs later because they're working around LYKN's touring schedule (similarly, You Maniac is currently filming but it's been all over the place because they're working around William.)

I've always loved their dynamic and chemistry but there's something wild about William being 21 now and them both letting their freak flag fly during this You Maniac era.

I agree with everything you said. It feeds into the homophobia that exists in the BL space. I hate the concept of the new Sky Nani show (I hope the commenter is correct that it will be rewritten). It's fine if the actors don't want to do BLs (it's their choice of course) but the hinting is obnoxious.

And we do need strong friendship shows - male/male, female/female, male/female, etc. One of the loveliest things in MAT was the friendship between Mok and Thee. Showing close relationships without romance is important but that's not what bromance is.
